Oh, that question requires a big answer :D Not to go into too much details (that is what the forum.dwelvers.com are for).

First of the game needs to be more balanced, more creatures, more rooms and buildings, more spells, more traps, introducing raiding on the surface world, campaigns, multiplayer, being able to make the create squads, less micro management, more auto equipping and more balancing...

This is just off the top of my head. I have a vision on how the game will be like when it is finished, and for each update I get closer to that goal, but I do try to focus at one thing at a time so that I don't get distracted. Also, when I introduce new features they are usually pretty simple, it is not until all the features are introduced in the game and I see that they work well together with each other I start expanding on them.

Argh, the launcher is still set on the non demo file :S I will upload a functioning version shortly. A quick hack to make it work with this current version is to rename the "dwelversdemo.exe" file to "dwelvers.exe" in the game folder.

English is unfortunately not my native language, and I know there are some spelling and grammar mistakes. As I now have made all text in the game moddable I will let someone with the proper English skills look it through before the next release :)

The game is very demanding at the moment as it still is in alpha and haven't been optimised, I figure the loading time comes after the "Present screen"? If that is the case it is the game level that is generating, and it isn't the most optimised atm. It will be better in future versions. My recommendation is to just wait it out, the level should finish loading at some point. But I am pretty confident that you will experience a laggy gameplay because the long loading time may suggest that the game is to demanding for your laptop.

Sorry for this, I am working on it and it will get better in the future :)

1. Actually, I have already made the surface world as seen in the news section, it just haven't been released yet. When it is released and fully functional the idea is that you will be able to take the fight to them, instead of them just attacking you. So yeah, definitely a world above the dungeon system.

2. I think not. ***** is a character that is a part of the main story in DK, and as I am not going in the same direction with the story line I will probably not have a character that. The main creature plan with this game is that I will avoid making uber creatures as they could destroy the balance in the game. I prefer making creatures that each have their own unique skills and that it is up to the player to make them uber. Once I start implementing uber creatures it is very easy for all the player to just have one favourite creature, and that is something I want to avoid.

3. Yes, but it will probably take a couple of months before I start implementing it. Still have some foundations in the game to work on :)

Nr 1: Is being worked on and will probably be introduced in the 0.7 or 0.8 version.

Nr 2: I see your point, but I could turn it around and say that the females are dominating the guys. If I had a guy that were the Dark Mother and all other females, then it would be sexist as well. The only reason I choose to label her as the "Dark Mother" is because she giving offspring. But yeah, in the future we will probably have more variation between the genders :)

It a mistake I made from the beginning that I started with Direct3D, I will probably port the game to OpenGL in the future, but right now I have way too much on my plate..

The next update should be within a couple of weeks. I'm using a self made Direct3D engine, the models in the game is simple 3ds models. Unfortunately all packed into a big database file. But I think we will leave the textures and the models open for the next release, I don't want to discourage modding of the game..
As I'm working in c++ there are little room for scripting, but I will try to get it working in due time, I know there are some libraries out there that could enable it even in c++.

Hmm not sure what you mean with "adding tooltips to the main tools menu?" I do have some minor tool-tips there at the moment, describing what the different tools does, I am guessing you are talking about the radial menu when right-clicking. It could need some improvements, I'll see what I can do :)

Ahh, I really need to change that error message.. It is triggered when the game can't create any direct 3D device. It needs Windows Vista SP2+ and Direct3D 10 to be able to run.

Hmm, every issue there have been fixed without the doors and the wells.. I don't think I will make it possible for the creatures to pass the wells, but I will fix the doors :)

Glad you like it :) The possession spell is already added. I think we will wait with the multi-player support until after the first demo release. But I have all intentions on adding a multi-player feature. It was actually because of DK2 constant crashing during multi-player gaming I decided to start on Dwelvers. At first I wanted to make a small DK game as a hobby, But it just continued growing, and here I am :)
