The Story Concept
The last 6,432 remaining humans from Earth are in a ship called the Protocol-Z (might change) and are enroute to a discovered habitable planet, otherwise known as New Earth. The journey to New Earth is long and will take 67 years and requires its passengers to be cryogenically frozen or Cryo-Sleep for the duration of the travel. To maintain the ship and make sure that it is in perfect working condition as well as on course a group of 4 maintenance teams are scheduled in rotation to be released every 3 months from their cryo-sleep to perform system check-up and maintenance.
61 years in its journey the maintenance team that’s on schedule notices something with the ships long range radar. It is showing a faint electronic signal fading in and out finally disappearing after 10 minutes. The team, aside from the radar blip, reports no errors within the system and ship is on course and returns back to cryo-sleep. The ship is scheduled to slowly start releasing its passengers and crew from cryo-sleep once it is 5 years away from New Earth. This will enable everyone to prepare for the new planet habitation as well as start human reproduction.
The ship is now within 3 years away from New Earth and 4500 people so far have been released from cryo-sleep and started their initial new life on board. The newly established N.E.A or New Earth Alliance has been keeping watch and has been acting government over the ships inhabitants.A distress signal penetrates the radar systems and the ship crew investigates which requires the Protocol-Z to disengage its FTL drives. The crew discovers a ship of alien origin which appears to be disabled and brings it back. The crew is very much excited of discovering something that is not of human origin. After a couple weeks of observation and looking for a way in they finally penetrate the alien ships hull and gain entry.Exploring the ship they discover highly advanced technology but the alien ship’s crew is nowhere to be found. Most of the ship is covered with what seems to be some type of plant-like organism that branches out throughout the whole ship.
Further exploration brings them to what seems to be the ships cargo hold and looks to be where the plant-like vines originated from. The crew hears a scream behind and and turn back, they see one of their crew men running towards them but something doesn’t seem right…You awaken from your cryo-sleep, groggy, and disoriented. You finally bring yourself together and slowly start to exercise your body to get the blood flowing. You notice something odd so you find your way to a computer terminal and check the logs and find that the ship has stopped and is on emergency power.

You slowly sit back and sweat starts to drip from your forehead. Fear starts to take over and your mind goes blank…you finally bring your senses back and decide to check the cryo-pod count.
2148.66 – Crew UNKNOWN: Cryo-Pod Check returns 2,606 cryo-pods accounted for and operational returning no system errors. 3,562 with non-functioning or disabled VSC’s (Vital Sign Chip) with 264 VSC’s detected functioning.
You sit still for a moment and you ask yourself what the hell is going on. You quickly get up and head straight for the intercom to contact the bridge with no success, you are returned with a silent static.

I’ll be building up more of the story as development progresses and would love to get everyones feedback as well to help flesh it out.
