New update coming this afternoon (AEST), just got word from Rubberman.
The fishing will be included in this and he says it is awesome fun :-)

At the moment it hasn't been discussed to offer survival as a stand alone game, maybe further down the line. There is much much more to the virtual world in VEO other than wondering around your town. Huge plans for the future too. Thank you

Hi PlanMan, glad you were impressed by the recent upgrades. We hope you will come and try the game out in our open beta. One of the greatest features is the avatar multiplayer interaction. Get some friends to meet up with you in the game, build, chat, travel, shoot each other and more. So much fun!
