Yep, nothing was original. I think what I was trying to do at the time was grab what I could that roughly fit and then develop off of that into something that fit more with the original. I've now seen and learned better ways of doing things since then but keep this here as a reminder of my naivety.

You are completely right on this, It may as well be a new IP as it was so far from what DX was. Looking back on it I think this was more of a superficial thought experiment than an actual project to create a viable product.

Technology has improved in the last 21 years as well, so change is expected. The end result though will be interesting too, the idea for this is to become a portfolio piece and will just be the first level for now. But it could turn into something more. I think perhaps this could be a lifelong project that will follow me for the rest of my life like my C&C works.

It's still only just me for now, things change constantly. In fact it will be somewhere in the middle of staying true to the old, while also introducing new carefully considered mechanics that have evolved to make the FPS experience better. I mean without UI and HCI improvements the game will still feel like it was made in 2000.

Probably got something to do with the gif timing, the game itself will be just grabbing the frame it wants so this effect won't be present. The turret is also going to change as well as I'm going for an open hatched manned 50cal instead.

I agree on the idea of using any of the IS family of tanks, especially a double barrelled T-10M. RA isn't realistic though and uses modern units in a time period where you'd expect to see 1950's era equipment. Ideally I'd keep it as close as I can get to the FMVs.

It's a combination of Unity and Blender, though I'm thinking of transitioning the pipeline to just Blender, this will come in handy for when I start rendering the infantry.

Not an overhaul like Techo Scorpion or Electro Comrade, but a new IP as a mod developed as a portfolio piece. It may jump to an engine depending upon limitations.

Will be limiting actually, and have been considering jumping to Unity or Godot to avoid wasted effort. I've already experienced alot of limitations through my work on Techo Scorp that could easily be fixed with 3d models. Dynamic lighting, offset turrets and a proper z coordinate being the main ones so far.

Back then it was just a collection of basic models I'd made with some of them being ingame, nothing too special. However I can make some as I plan on making some for how I create units for the Remastered anyway.

I've come back to it and add things to is concurrently alongside my other C&C mods. Though it explores a C&C like game without any of the C&C under a post apoc cyberpunk setting. Gives an opportunity to make something new without the restriction.

Absolutely, currently writing a renderer for the infantry and buildings which has been taking some time. I'm also creating new units that are used instead of old ones as the old unit's meta files overwrite the new creating visual errors, this involves playing with the source. So these two things are taking time but are nearly thereXD

Yep, will be a combination of a walker bulldog base with a custom turret that matches the cut scenes, looks like a miniaturised Super M48 or M60 turret.

I'll still be making the Bradly next, I'm about halfway there already. But will be giving it some sort of cannon to fit the role it plays in-game. Would actually be nice to use this as the light tank and use the Bradly as an APC
