Your color palette is very limited. Makes it kind of hard to tell the items apart. Maybe outline them all like with the gas masks?
Map looks a lot better than the hand drawn stuff, too.

Looks good. I think the buttons would look better if you slid them up so only the depth face at the bottom was visible instead of making them go transparent like that.
ehhh... it was ok, but honestly I expected more
1. some rather poor level design in various places imo, for instance the two parallel rows in the second level that are stopped at the end by a block, really hard to get at them without dying
2. having to map the controls for joysticks? not being able to use triggers? c'mon
3. I would prefer a movement system where you changed your rotation and flew in that direction rather than just strafing up/down/left/right, but maybe that's just me
pros - pretty well optimized, looks good, sweet music

there's one more: aim towards mouse, move towards/away from mouse with forwards/backwards, and move left/right relative to the mouse with left/right... so basically radial, except mouse to aim and you can strafe.
Mines look really strong, although I don't think they should be restricted to just one deployed mine at a time, that would make it pretty hard for the player to use them well as they would constantly be re-dropping their one mine, can't really position it tactically that way.
Boomerang looks sweet, a little underpowered though..

I gotta ask, how did you set up that white outline on the selected building? I have the same thing going on in my game and I've had to drawn a separate sprite for each outline. Are you doing the same or something more efficient?
This game is looking better and better, man. Very nice. The swords look like GREAT additions, same for the rockets (yeah they're not know, but I didn't notice them before).
Looks interesting, I like the 2d sprite route.

Deflection sounds like a fun feature, are they still dangerous afterwards?
Movement actually looks pretty smooth.
Russia is rather expansionist, though, especially if other powers are too preoccupied (or allied) to care.
