This game would be great if there were regular updates and the devs didn't hide away so much. Once its complete (if ever) you should come back to check it out. For now there is a very similar game being made, almost to point of being a direct remake of this: Craft the World by Dekovir. Steam Greenlit. There are also similar games but 3d based: Stone Hearth by Tom & Tony (Can't find their company name if the have one) and DwarfCorp by Completely Fair Games.

Are in an overhaul and haven't left enough information on their progress, even if its to say "hey guys, we've redone about 10% of the previous game and things are looking promising". Simple and easy to do. Lets us know that they are putting in effort. Doesn't have to be a huge update list. Yes, the game will be done when its done but this isn't a big AAA group that will almost 100% release a title, its an indie group. These people a whole different group with a whole different expectations expected of them. Everything they have done so far has been revealed, no need to hide it like some top secret government documentation. Right now, they have taken the Bethesda route, in your words, as they have released something that is totally useless. Deleting it now and stating it will be put back up when it is released would be a far better approach than scamming people who believe they will actually get to play what they have uploaded here.

And before you speak of paying for a possible working game, I know how indie games work. But, you don't offer a non-functional item as bait to buy the game. Really bad form.

News doesn't count as a reply directly to my, or anyone's, issues. It's just ignoring the people who ask for genuine help. There's not even a location to go for most frequent questions to get answers from. There's more devoted devs out there that post rather regularly (1-3 weeks) AND provide help in their forums. Shouldn't have to spam "found a problem, need help" to get a helpful reply. The games they have listed here should be removed as they are not functional to any degree and don't help anyone except being suckered into false expectations (paying to see a better glimpse of the game, as is, in some playable form). After they actually come up with a working model, then they should put it back up. There's not even an apology for it being broken.

So far, incredible. I've had it for a while now, haven't played it much. been waiting for more content to be added. Mostly either the return of NPCs who don't run around attracting zombies left, right and centre (who's idea was it they should have guns?!!!) and/or an update on the multiplayer aspect which is absolutely awesome how its done (no networking issues, no lag spikes, no incompatible versions etc etc plus i can talk to the person next to me without having a 3rd party tool), but seriously the other players need to have the moodlets work for them. No fun having to stop and check if someone is injured and you can't tell wheh they get hungry/thirsty are tired, in pain, ill, etc.
Also - how many wells exist in the game. I've heard from others there has been one known location for one well... is the plan to force survivors to that one location? Sounds like a trap XD

"Survival" is a broad term - what form does this mod use? Run and gun (stay alive while just shooting things), or the other form of survival game of gathering and cooking food (hunting and gathering), building tools, creating/findingshelter, having enough water?
I mean, if you think about it, Super Mario Brothers is a survival game.

Oh its one of those games. Scroll around with mouse until you find the hotspot and click away. You'll need to navigate stupidly thought out pathways because of no free movement. Its also hotspot hunting to see whcih items can be picked up and must be picked up otherwise you'll be stuck. Then combine item A with every possible other item / scenery, then repeat for item B, item C.... Not to forget you must get the absolute correct sequence in order otherwise you can't get further, (no multiple ways to complete a puzzle for those who don't understadn what I am talking about).
Yeah once upon a time these were fun, but I was young and simple minded, easily amused. Good thing I've grown up to be more sophisticated than that. The least you could is make it free movement.

BTW visually it looks top notch!

-sigh- the next game "in development", or a more accurate term being "not in development at all". There has been no news of anything since a reply on April 15th and no update on information since 5 months back. This is why you don't pay for stuff that hasn't been completed, the morale of the story :)

Yeah however you'll know when almost all AAA games get completed and put into the market for purchasing. These people here are useless as developers.

OK Almost a month has gone past without a fix, update or reply. I'll let my circle of gamers know to avoid this "game". I'll also eventually call for a refund. I recommend any who bought this should do the same - this game as it's developement team are dead/non-existant/vacant/indisposed/afk/busy with other things.

This trailer, was bad - "I am woman, must find man!" Not a great voice actor either, if that's the voice that is used within the game. I guess this game is designed for a very small number of people around world, caring nothing of feedback.

The Path is a really bad idea to recommend as a testing title if you are trying to say this is good XD. The Path is a pretty poor - hell I don't know what to call it but for lack of terms I'll stick with game.

While some point and click adventures may be entertaining because of story/characters the whole concept of click randomly around screen to find something interactive, combine object A with every other possible item and location till you succeed, and the incredibly linear gameplay which offers no replay value at all , are really bad. These games bring the illogical into thought sometimes which is the worst possible game design. I've played enough in my time to know this game genre well and almost all of them suffer from these effects. Mind you, I did enjoy the looney side of the Gobliiins series, and The Longest Journey story and visuals (and the fact I didn't have to read every bloody dialogue -the voice acting was great).
My suggestion - break the mold - multiple ways to achieve a goal, multiple story elements you can't see in a single game, multiple endings to make it worth playing more than once, puzzles that make sense or have enough clues as to how to complete them, make objects/locations visibley highlighted so we know what the hell we can and can't interact with (like a button to hold down that highlights things).

I wish to state that Chicken Edition works fine downloading and installing with a small hiccup at the same spot Settler Edition does (around 94% loses the data trail but Chicken Edition actually resumes whereas Settler Edition does not). Someone get a move on a create a fix for this or at least let us know when the next release is coming out so it's playable (downloadable/installable). I'm contacting Desura support to check into this sit in case it's not dev at fault.
Also note: Chicken Edition crashes - a lot

Would it help if I added:
"Failed crc check. Writen to log file

I shortened the path since I dont need to list where I place my desura on the computer.

Well, what luck I have. First time I get this message on Desura:

"There was an error during the MCF download process and it has been stopped.: All server connections failed.
Please check you are connected to the internet and try again or check console for more info. [59.0]"

Kind of hard to post a message here if my computer is online and logged into my Desura account on the Desura program (not web browser). I am trying to get the Settler Edition downloaded and installed. First attempt got me to about 95% before it stopped and started with this error.

I am impressed with the way things are turning out with your game. Glad I helped in some small monetary way to further this project. I have only 2 gripes: First is that placing blocks is a bit fiddley. Sometimes I am not able to place a block where I wish to. My second is the game crashing. It just hangs itself, I am not sure why. What I did: Talked to an NPC, obtained gather copper nuggets quest, killed a slime with pickaxe, broke some terrain and was replacing it back where I removed it (unsuccessfully), gathered some ore (none which was copper) and the opened chests. It hung itself when I opened one of the chests closer to the castle.

Also you cannot build in Cube World. Build as in like minecraft - you cant gather blocks to place them elsewhere. Cube World is just an adventure game.

I can save the dev the trouble of answering - cubeworld you roam around kill things and level up. There is no terrain modification in Cube World as far as I have seen. Vox has completely modifiatable everything concerning appearance (weapons/ammo/character). Besides those I haven't delved deeper into Vox since I bought it as it still isn't done to any "finished" state I deem playable.

I'd give it another month or two personally. True enough, devs should at least provide some sort of information at some point to let us all know what is happening - even if it's a temporary suspension of development regardless of reason(s).
But then, would I really want to know that the entire 2+ months they have only made a minor graphical update because they were unable to get around doing any more than that? To me that's about as useful knowledge as hearing nothing has been done at all.

Cant recall who I replied to, but you are very rude. I can already figure out the sort of person you are from your tiny reply. My statement rings true to masses, regardless to who it was originally aimed at. And your capslock random comment means little to me without any form of underlying definition - it could mean anything. "Retro quote" first I've ever heard of such a "quote".
I've made bad investments which is why I now follow a different way to go about indie games - as mentioned above. Am I frustrated? Nope, because I knew I am putting money into something that has absolutely no push for marketing like big industries do. Indie devs can make money other ways, it doesn't have to be a business for them. I guess I have far better understanding how things work with regards to this due to my earlier learnings of what an Indi Dev actually is. You can be childish as much as you want, and swear whatever words you can come up with, I'll just laugh at you for being so butt hurt.

Your game is so good, take all my money! <--- total worthless comment. No constructive criticize.
Your game is crap <----- also a total worthless comment as above.

Your game is nice due to it appeals to my taste on the graphical side, I enjoy the way you used just the right amount of horror and not went over board. <----- good comment, it has constructive criticize.

I detest that you made a game without thinking how close it mimics another to the point of being a direct copy, like you just stole the work for yourself and gave it a different coat of paint. <---- good comment as it also is constructive.

People who negatively vote on constructive criticism really need to understand that not everyone sees things your way, and without constructive criticism nothing ever changes for the better for all. You can't make everyone happy true, but listening to another's ideas CAN be beneficial.

Yeah, your logic defines media, not content. Well done. Just like there are various tires all used to fit cars. You jumped to conclusions, never assume.
If you are going to talk about novels you might look a deeper than the media, like what is inside the story that makes it different from another story. So said is what I am pointing out in the media of games (mechanical/functionality aspects). This here is an absolute copy of several singular existing games.
Most games are art as much as a football game is art, or playing chess is a work of art.
And honestly you would be better off just replaying your old game as you would get the same quality of experience as playing a game that is exactly the same thing.

(buried)

It sounds very much like just another Slenderman game, exchanging the faceless human for a lumberjack. In that note, I would say the same thing I say abotu ever 3d voxel game that came after minecraft, every 2d voxel game that came after Terraria, ever FPS that came after Wolfenstein 3d/Doom, every mmo that came out after <insert popular mmo> that adds almost nothing new - you have wasted your time and effort. People like you don't move the gaming industry forward, you are just beating a dead horse.
I respect you made an effort to do something, but that energy and resources would have been better placed into something unique enough to call your own - regardless if you sold it or made it for free. Are you just a sheep or do you actually have your own individual ideas? Just trying to make a point here - your game could be "good" or "bad", I don't care. Fact is, you didn't try hard enough to come up with something to call your very own.
