Because BlackMagic333 is a known Balalaikan arms dealer who has profiteered by providing weapons to a criminal element known as the Fussili Freedom Sisters and is indirectly responsible for thousands of deaths, which would later be known as the Crimson Carbonara incident. Oh, and lol.

Wouldn't it be better, if games in development got a separate category? I mean, half of the games listed are still in development, including #1.

Regardless, congratulations to the winners!

"Developers and publishers should get paid for the products they make; DRM is their answer to consumers not wanting to pay for the product. "

You're alluding to piracy, right? Valve's own Gabe Newell said piracy is an issue of service, not price. Steam's DRM is Valve's answer to ensuring their customers stay where they are. And just because offline mode works for you specifically, doesn't mean it does for everyone else. Check the Steam forums (or any gaming forums) for proof.

I'm not slamming Steam. I use Steam. I own games on Steam. But I still maintain that any piece of software that has the ability to prevent the user from playing their games is decisively not done right.

Steam isn't DRM, Steamworks is. And there is no "DRM done right". The vast majority of games on Steam won't launch unless Steam is running. All this does is introduce another breaking point. This is especially problematic, if your internet connection is spotty. Sure, there's the offline mode, but it's (still!) horrendous. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

However, Valve offer something in exchange for their DRM. Social features, sales so low they border on the absurd, automatic updates and more recently, cards, etc. Steam doesn't do DRM right, nobody does. What they do manage to do right, is everything else. Well, except Greenlight, but that's a story for another day.

This is from Flying Wild Hog's website:

"Hard Reset: Exile DLC is a free expansion for Hard Reset. It was first released in April 2012 as a part of boxed Hard Reset re-release called Hard Reset: Extended Edition. The expansion is available for all owners of Hard Reset for free since May 2012."

This is a lie, plain and simple. Many Desura users are owners of Hard Reset and I don't see the Exile DLC being available anywhere else other than Steam.

What about a timed demo? You could give the user free reign of the game and maybe put a countdown timer in a corner somewhere. That way you don't have to cut off anything.

This is so disheartening it hurts. I like Desura a lot, and I really, REALLY hope Desurium takes off somehow, but they're already having problems finding Windows coders. If Desura dies, we'll just have Steam and just on certain distros, which I am NOT okay with. :/

I got your game from the 4th Humble Bundle and I very much enjoy it. I've also noticed that on your site, you posted that you've also released the DLC for Linux, in which I am greatly interested. Is the DLC included if I purchase the game from Desura? I really wouldn't mind owning it twice, it's just that good.

I really don't get Blizzard on this one. They're alienating their player-base, despite the fact that they will be competing against the likes of Torchlight 2, Grim Dawn and Path of Exile, all of which have features that may arguably make them a superior product (like Torchlight 2's mod support, for example).

To me, this just feels like they're monetizing on the name.

Why the hell is everyone voting Tatsur0 down? He's right, you know. If you're buying the game, then you're basically telling them you're willing to pay to get shafted. But, on the other hand, if you're pirate the game, you're justifying their actions. If you don't like what they're doing then don't buy it, don't play it, don't pirate it.
Where is all this self-entitlement coming from, anyway?

Too bad, I really looked forward to seeing Unigine strut its stuff. Regarding the Unreal engine, I think it's not so much an industry standard as it's overused. If you think it'll work out better for you, though, then more power to you. And if I may be so bold, I have one suggestion: if you're going to use UDK then I humbly suggest fixing the default settings (for the PC at least) as they're awful. Google "Unreal Engine Mouse Smoothing" for more info. It's the first result.

Um, I don't actually own Far Cry or Crysis, but I've noticed this mod on the ModDB Editor's Choice awards. What you have done is amazing. When I was looking at the video, I thought I was looking at a Crysis mod. Then I found out that this is actually a Far Cry mod. I was shocked. You really know how to push the engine to its limit! Good work!

My hat's off to you Sup, for persevering for 8 years! I'd dare say you are far more patient than most of us. I've been looking forward to this mod very much and I am very thrilled that it's finally going to be released soon!
Regarding the hunkmeg issue you mentioned in your post, have you considered ioquake3? The Urban Terror team used this to resolve the issue and make their mod standalone. I know you're already looking at the Rivalry of Legends engine, but I'm suggesting this because their site doesn't seem to be showing any progress.

This game is seriously overrated. Two things that made me stop playing:

1. No savegames! I mean, what the hell? If you die, tough.
2. Monsters respawn in areas you've already killed them, when you start the game up again. Had a hard time killing monsters in dungeon X? Yeah, me too. Just don't go back when you launch D2 again, because they'll be back. All of them. If they got this right in Diablo 1, then why change it?
3. No more random dungeons! This is why I kept replaying D1! After you've finished D2 with all characters, you'll be more or less done with it. All rooms stay the same.

Only three issues, yes, but that's enough for me.
