That's weird. You do have windows right? It should be FourRealmsWin32Demo.4.exe. The .# is added by indieDB to show revisions with the file name. You could just rename it.
A new version is up.
You can also download the demo off the Steam page. Though the button is kind of hard to find.

I like the editor as well, but the engine isn't well suited to PC release (it's HTML 5 focused). Which is something I've discovered recently. :( Good luck!
Yes it did, almost exactly a year ago. But the campaign was unsuccessful. :(
