Get rid of AdChoices. That's all I ask...
It doesn't matter what other service you use, just get rid of AdChoices. They're annoying, and have been exploited in the past to allow malware to be pushed to clients' computers. I have good antivirus, and I'm sure most others here are, too, but this is a risk you guys really shouldn't be taking.

Still whitelisting you, but seriously. Just something to consider. You guys aren't like Game Banana, who it doesn't matter how many times they nag me, I'm not disabling AdBlock. I actually HAVE been infected by them before, and their ads obstruct the page and/or make sound.

All right guys, I need a link to half life 2 deathmatch.gcf. I can't find it anywhere that doesn't say "removed due to a DMCA complaint by Valve Corp." This could actually fix this awesome game, and I want to try to fix it.

Wait, I only just now noticed that it simply says that HL:R's textures can't be loaded. Oops. However, it is important to note that there just seem to be random maps in which they don't load. Most of the time they load fine.

I have no trouble so far playing HL:R 3.0. I haven't tested 2.0 at all, and I haven't tested 2.5 very much, but 3.0 seems to run pretty much no problem except for an odd random crash.

Which version are you trying to play? I messed around a while and somehow got Redux 10 to work. SMOD 40a now has a fixed version that the authors made and it works fine, but I'm not sure how I got Redux 10 to work. I think it had something to do with messing around with gameinfo.txt.

No, this is what I installed. The mod was still on my account's game list, even though the link isn't available anymore.
EDIT: You just made me realize that I installed version 2.2.0 instead of version 2.3.4 because I did it through the old link on my Desura account...

Just tried to install this on my laptop. Bricked my Desura installation. Entirely. Using Desura was probably the worst mistake I've made in my entire life.
EDIT: I'd really like to punch whatever idiot decided to put write protection on the program files folder. Changing Desura to run as an administrator fixed everything.

So, is this going to be like Black Mesa Source where we get no news for seven years? Oh wait. Too late!

OH MY GOSH I FIXED IT! Just rename the cl_dlls folder in the HL_R folder to cl_dllsold! You could also delete it, but this is a safer way to do it.
Hope this works for other people! It also speeds up loading entirely.
As for the download, the links don't appear to work at all, and I'm digging around my hard drive for the RAR. ;)

EDIT 2: Actually, this method seems to break some of the effects, but most of them seem to still work.

Why don't you try using something similar to Garry's Mod's Lua implementation? Lua would probably help make coding easier.

Yes. Very. I tried it once...it didn't end well. It ended with a bug where you died right when you spawned.

I don't, but I do know that if you're using the original version or the HLPLAT version (Half-Life Platinum), you can start the game with the -console parameter, and then press the "`" button in-game to bring up the console.
