Hello everyone, my name is Nate and I'm a 26 year old college student enrolled with Westwood College in their Game Art and Design program for my Bachelor's of Applied Sciences. My main focus is on modeling, texturing, animating and concept work but in the future I hope to establish myself as a Game Designer and found my own development company.

My contributions to ModDB have been varied thus far and continue to grow as I move along towards my future career. I was the lead modeler and animator for the PSP project Prime which is currently in hiatus. My other work can be seen throughout the site. I am soon about to offer a variety of video tutorials ranging on various subjects including modeling, texturing, animating and exporting of low poly assets/characters for video games. As well I host a monthly self-imposed challenge in which I model a new model every week based on a monthly topic of the community's choosing. Feel free to friend me if you wanna keep track of my efforts.

Well, life sure does get hectic in quite a short amount of time sometimes. Classes started back up after the Christmas break and dumped 4 full time classes on me. As far as what I've been up to:

- Currently packing up to relocate to Texas for a job opportunity, plenty of development houses there once I have my Bachelor's in hand, which is in a few months

- Classes, of course, have completely consumed my life, but I've had some things to show for it

- Currently in a 9 week dev cycle to produce a game for the Android OS in which I am Lead Designer and Art Director, primarily for smart phones, details will be available when allowed

Keep your eye out. I'm going to try to keep this place updated. For those that missed me, sorry for my absence. I know I've promised to help some of you with projects but these will have to be on hold until time permits. I may not have to work when I get to Texas so I'll have more time to concentrate on school and projects. Would be nice to actually be able to sleep again.

A question: are you making the game in BGE or just making the assets in blender and putting it all together in some other game engine, as i am myself making a game in BGE and i am quite curios how other people do stuff.. :D

BGE. I am a single person, and no good as a programmer, but I do know Python fairly well and there are quite a few assets out there to help with doing Python stuff for the BGE. So it is basically the only route I have to make a game by myself. But I'm entering it with realistic expectations. I'm not expecting to have a full fledged market ready game out of the BGE, as I feel it really can't stand up against other engines in a PC capacity but it is good for getting the idea across if you wish to pitch it to a company. That being said, I will be making it to the best of my abilities to make it as polished as I can.

Thank you sir. I am desperately trying to provide content for everyone's visual enjoyment. I have re-tooled my daily scheduling 3 times thus far trying to make room for everything but it has thus far been worth it. I can't wait to put the tutorial site on-line and see what kind of response I get from the content I will provide there. As far as things go here, the model challenges are fun, if not a bit frustrating at times, and trying to help a few people with some minor models is a good distraction. So long as people enjoy it and want it I'll keep producing it, so I thank you and everyone else in the community for providing interest in what I'm doing.

Thanks man, I try my best with what time I have available. I feel that artists and creators, as a community, should always be as closely knit as possible. Too many in the video game industry forget this though some do not. I have always promised to myself that IF I do make it into the industry and do enjoy some success, I will never forget those that really matter. The up-and-comers, the modders and the indie developers, the ones truly aspiring to create new ideas, new forms of gameplay and new experiences. Helping them to that end that they are trying to create is both fulfilling and fun. We should all share our knowledge and experience respectfully, much as Hollywood functions, if we hope to survive as a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry. Leaps and bounds have been made, with video games being declared art and such, but it will still be some time before they are truly accepted by everyone.

I see what you mean, and I share the same views on that... sadly not everyone does that...

Yeah, but simply give it time. In retrospect, video/computer games are still relatively newborn concepts. Movies have been around longer and books even longer than that, not including plays and opera's and such. Games are still trying to carve their place into the world and as the technology advances and they move further from interactive media to interactive art you will see the dichotomy of the industry change. Give it 5 decades and there won't be a single person left on the planet that doesn't play video games, seeing as there's no one really anymore who doesn't watch movies.
