I've got about 3 hours in so far and it's fun. What's good is once you associate the new look components with there Far cry 3 counterparts you know how to play the game and it's all about living the story, My AMD graphics card had bad stutter issues on release day but the latest beta patch has it pretty much fixed up and running nicely. So far I'll give Far Cry 4 an 8/10 score.
Yea, that's kind of an issue, FC4 is roughly re-skinned FC3, but with worse performance, but so far I like it as FC3 wasn't so bad after all as well :D
I've got no complaints either, It's a good game and by keeping it on virtually the same platform they minimized bug issues (they fixed all the big ones for FC3). For me the only issue is the fur bug. I think the bugs there because I'm running AMD graphics while the fur is via Nvidia gameworks. My performance is good though, All maxed at 1080p I'm averaging somewhere between 70 and 90 fps while never dropping below 60.
Well, I've got a weak-ish rig anyway (GeForce 560 Ti), but with the latest driver update it runs rather smooth indeed.
That's what matters, It seems Nvidia and AMD have solved the stutter issues people had on day 1 pretty quickly which is great for everyone. After Stalker it's one of my favourite franchises.
Yea, I like the Far Cry series really much as well, while I think it goes a bit too much into the action-movie-hero direction. Riding and controlling elephants you just found out there in the wild is a bit unrealistic.
But to name one thing that is just way better in FC4: The level design, you really "feel" being out in the wild now, as there are large forests with fitting atmosphere. And these forests are looking now like those at home, not like this jungle stuff!
