I wish they'd come up with an original IP, a not-Fallout. Retro 80's future instead of 50's, try something new.
IMO there is nothing more you can do with the Fallout IP except run it into the ground. How many more times are they going to do this? And in my mind Wasteland 2 is still the true successor to the Fallout series.
You're right, If the original is what you prefer then Wasteland 2 is the way to go, Since they changed it to tps/fps I've personally preferred it and I think there's plenty of legs in the old dog yet, After all it's not been on a yearly release cycle like some games.

Lots of rumors are flying about regarding what engine it is, and debate about whether its Creation or IdTech 5.
Remember when some guy's linkedin said he worked on a CGI trailer for Bethesda Softworks? This is that trailer isn't it? I doubt this is being rendered and captured in-engine. Likely a CGI "target render", depicting what they hope the actual game will look like. And since it's coming out on these new consoles, not just PC, I expect a significant downgrade to these graphics.

I just realized, so much of the graphics style reminds me of Rage, some fan speculated that your character could be someone from before the war put in cryo-freeze just like the Arks in Rage, and further speculation that this is IdTech 5, the engine used for Rage, and this is Bethesda who owns id...
Was this supposed to be Rage 2, but Rage wasn't well received as they'd hoped so now it's re-tooled into Fallout 4?
Full disclosure I'm a bit of a conspiracy nut.
I've been playing Rage for the last few day's funnily enough. I think it's an okay game myself.
