Yes ;)
Fantastic idea and execution!
The sequel can be called WizardWizardWizard?
Wow wonderful! Visually retro with a modern twist!
Hey, if the download says its damaged or whatever it's because Gatekeeper doesn't like it. To fix it do the following:
In System Preferences, select Security & Privacy and click the lock icon that reads "Click the lock to make changes.". Then set "Allow applications downloaded from: 'Mac App Store and identified developers'" to "Anywhere". Start WizardWizard.app. Once running, if you'd like, you may reset Gatekeeper to "Mac App Store and identified developers". Alternatively, you can right-click WizardWizard.app and select "Open". You'll be presented with a confirmation dialog. You only have to do this once; afterwards you'll be able to double-click and run WizardWizard.app without the above steps.
Ooops! I updated it! If we don't tell anyone that happened maybe no one will know >.> <.< >.>
Hey you're the Buddhism guy! Found an artist yet? I use gamemaker, and graphics gale to draw the art. Hope that helps :)
Thanks mate! And welcome to IndieDB! Pretty good effort! I took a long break during development of the game and started play testing it again and I was close to 200 deaths by the end of it hahahah.
Interesting concept mate! I'm like the progress. How are you finding Unity for 2D stuff?
I know I said I like this on TIG already. But I actually can't stop thinking about how cool this game is. I didn't realize this was made in gamemaker either which is awesome. How is the controller support with Gamemaker?
Aw cute! I like the option on the right the most. Visually it's a lot more stylized and fun than 'big head mode' guy on the left. Keep up the good work!
Impressive! Looks like a lot of fun, I'm down to play this.
OH DAMN THAT'S SMOOTH!
Glad to see this genre getting some love!
Damn, diggin' the art style!
Damn dude, to much fun. So glad this got funded. Count me in! I love table top wargames, and this gave me a similar feeling and I think... dare I say it... was much more fun!
This is a very cool game, it totally flew under my radar but I was watching a friend play it Youtube.com and I'm really excited about the direction its taking. A criticism of mine is that the guns don't really provide much feedback to the player when they're shot, try adding more bass to your gun sounds to bulk them out.
Keep up the hard work mate, I dig the style!
Wow. This looks dope. That animation is very smooth. I'm excited for this!
Relax coffee mug games. Supragamer is clearly angsty or a troll. Charge what you think your game is worth. Its fantastic that you're doing this in your free time, its admirable and a lot of people struggle to juggle both. Your art has captured well the aesthetic you were trying to achieve. This game caught my eye on the front page and it was the first thing clicked on so obviously your doing something right.
I'm digging that fluid animation!
Yeah, I messed around with the idea. 2 players were playing at once and it was a race to finish each level. The idea was lost in the abyss after running short on free time. Maybe in the future! Long live local co-op.
The music is done by _TWC, he's awesome.
Nice. You should write greetings cards.
Thanks for offering much needed feedback!
This is the first game I've ever made and I had to learn to use GameMaker and GML while I made it. So it took a while. I've worked on it on and off since mid 2012ish. I have a LOT of hobbies and passion to work on games only happens on rare occasions. Somethimes I catch game making bugs and I work like crazy. (hence why my updates are like 1-2 months between the last.)
TL;DR
A while.
WizardWizard wouldn't work so great on mobile. A web-based version is on its way though!
Nah it didn't at all sound like you were complaining! I'm in the process of reworking the ending! Consider me inspired :D
Damn, its comments like these that make me wish it was still unreleased. The art style I chose was very minimalistic and relied on nice on colour scheme. Risk of Rain has a very beautiful art style and also uses a pretty limited pallet for each of its assets. I’d totally recommend to anyone who is doing pixel art to limit their colour pallets because nearly everything you make will look totally awesome. WizardWizard is short (for some :P) but I designed WizardWizard with the intent of it being played like an old console game. Long to play on your first run, but faster the better you get at it. I also remember playing browser games at school and having to start again every lesson but never feeling like you lost too much progress because you had the skills to fly through the levels to get to where you were last up to. WizardWizard is a cut down platformer that removes all the filler levels. I’m tempted to do a sequel or browser version in the future but I have new titles I want to make before then.
I’m really sorry about the ending change. I really loved it. But it didn’t work for the majority of people that got to it. And let’s face it, the ending is meant to be the best reward. So many people were disappointed or just confused. I might rework the ending back to how it originally was but I have to work on it a bit.
