I was thinking the same. The head also looks a bit like Doomguy helmet.. but maybe that black part that looks like the visor is the mouth. The actual eyes kinda make the head look like an Axolotl head, which then make it look like a friendly character. From the backside it reminds me of those Brutes from Unreal.
Reminds me of the Mancubus from DOOM 2.
