Ok, I'll admit this game really isn't that bad. The graphics are good for 2005 and I guess the storyline is intriguing. BUT there are still things I want to rant about. Now some people might think that this is FINALLY a continuation of the original Quake and Quake 2 storylines, right? THINK AGAIN. The only thing even RELATED to Quake is the name, QUAKE 4. The storyline is COMPLETELY different. Also MULTIPLAYER IS BROKEN. It's EXACTLY the same as Quake 3 and Quake Live with the exception that the graphics are more up-to-date for 2005. They didn't even bother to change the sound FX in multiplayer! And they swear WAY TOO MUCH for NO REASON AT ALL. For example, on this part that I'm stuck on (near the beginning) this guy says "Ain't this just f***ing sweet? Hold up a minute... Hold up..." ALL HE NEEDS TO SAY IS "Hey let me open this door!" IT WOULD HAVE SAVED TIME, MONEY, AND PEOPLE PLAYING THE GAME! Also, the puzzles are too vague. The only time NPCs help you by telling you what you need to do is when IT'S OBVIOUS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO. When there's something like a tiny little button that you can barely see the NPC walks up to it and say "Try to find a way to open this door!" When what would've been much easier would be to say "Hey look! A button! Let's push it!" I was very dissapointed with my purchase. I mean, it's OK. Not worth 20 bucks. I'd say get it when it's on sale and if you are a big Bethesda/ Id fan. Not great, but OK.
