**UPDATE**
We have programmers and a composer. We are still in need of one or more artists. Anyone with experience in digital art would be preferable. We need artists able to make concept art and other artwork, and artists able to contribute to making graphics.

I'm looking for people to help work on a game that a group of my friends and I have been planning for a long time now. Our ideas have been built up and improved, and we finally have a solid idea of what our game will be. As much as it would be incredible for the few of us to be able to make it ourselves, we’re young, inexperienced, and don’t have skills in the departments required to make a game, so we’re looking for people who want to help us make our project

I have been at the head of the project (as in, I’ve always done the most work) for most of its existence, and have some self-taught skill in drawing, sprite work, music composition, and script and story writing. It’s enough to be able to record and show my ideas.

Our game is referred to as Adventure Story as a project name. The real title of the game has yet to be decided. There's a story, of course, which is the main focus of the game. It will be explained to those who end up working with us.

We're looking for programmers, artists, and any other people with skills that would be helpful to us. It will be expected for you to contribute whatever you can to the project during your free time, working on it around something like 5 hours a week if possible, once we get the ball rolling. After the game is complete and selling, you'll receive a portion of the revenue depending on how much you contributed to the project. A programmer would probably receive a bigger portion than the other jobs because none of us have any knowledge of programming. The most we can do ourselves is suggest what we're looking for.

For artists, I have and am able to make rough concept art/sketches and sprites to show what I'm looking for in character design and art style. I have experience in sprites and photo editing, so I can contribute to the graphics as well. I have drawings skills, but the way that I draw eats up a lot of time, so I don't want to have to focus on it.

For programmers, I can draw diagrams of physics, controls, menus, animations, and other basic elements.

I'm working on the characters, plot, dialogue, and concepts of the game, and other miscellaneous things. For now, the project is only in the stage of conceptualizing ideas and goals, but not having to worry about different jobs will help me focus on laying the groundwork and solidifying story, character, and gameplay concepts.

--------------------

Some basic elements of the gameplay include:

-Combat-based platforming with RPG elements, like status ailments, stats, healing items, upgradable abilities, etc. Instead of experience points and levels, character upgrades will be based around equipment. There will also be cosmetic items.

-The ability to switch between different characters, who have different abilities and movesets.

-Various types of levels, like stealth segments.

-Sci-Fi/Fantasy themes.

-Cartoony, colorful artstyle.

-Hand-drawn high resolution sprites for graphics.

-Lighthearted tone.

-Many different dialogue options and story paths, including permadeath of every playable character, which have effects on the story and ending.

-An open world, with the option of going off track to explore environments and communities, collect materials for upgrades and items, have conversations with other characters and NPCs, and play minigames.

--------------------

More information will be given to applicants. Professional experience isn't required, and there's no need to be formal. We’re just a group of inexperienced high schoolers who want to make a game that we’ve been planning since we were 9-10 years old. Discussions and meetings will be a group chat, or possibly a group voice chat or video call. One important thing, though, is that you should only consider volunteering if you're more interested in being part of a no-budget passion project than getting paid for it. If you're considering joining the project, I won't expect you to work on this all the time, but I do hope that you'll spend as much time as you can and want to. As stated before, anyone who works on this project will get a fair portion of the revenue depending on how much they can contribute.
