[Paid soon?] Programmer looking for 3D artists to form a team for narrative game job

Hi!

My name is Jens. I am looking to form a small team of talented game developers to create a 3D narrative experience game.

In 2015, I founded an indie game studio called Storyyeller Games with the goal of creating narrative experiences and adventure games. Our team won a Judges’ Pick Award for our Adventure Jam game entry and I have collected a lot of valuable experience in founding game studios and leading small indie teams like this. Now it is time for new adventures.

I am looking to create a game inspired by the likes of Firewatch, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter or Gone Home. The core of the story, as well as a GDD, exist already – it is a game about the life of an old man who passes away in the first moments of the game. In a unique interpretation of the afterlife, represented by a vast mountain landscape in which the player has to revisit key moments in the protagonist’s life and try to make peace with what happened to him. Would he make the same choices again, if he could revisit these moments? What would that say about him? What are we all here for, and what things really are important in life? These are the questions I want the players to think about.

Being a programmer myself, I need artists to help me put my vision to life. I am serious about this. There will be a company founded and we will go for funding as soon as we have something presentable – at which point this will become a paid position. In the past years, I have learned a lot about team management, leadership, the founding of companies etc. and I am looking to put my knowledge to good use. Please note that as this project is only just beginning, a lot of the details are still undefined – which is a good thing, because you will have the chance to influence and form this vision and company yourself.

Many teams form and then disband again, and many projects like this are never finished. I am looking for people who are willing to go all the way, to see this thing through, to be dedicated and motivated. Once we have funding, this will be a real job. Please be aware of that.
