Reach Game Studios is looking for a talented designer to join and lead the World activity team for the studio's upcoming online FPS RPG, GLORY.

Responsibilities:
As a lead world designer you will be responsible for:

* Working with the Design Director and Lead Writer to shape the key locations in the world thematically and practically, keeping in mind player psychology and design principles. This includes working with the environment team to place the locations in 3D space.

* Workng with your team to develop and design unique world environments.

* Working with the core development and art teams to implement locations, together with landmarks, enemies, NPCs and other requirements as dictated by design.

* Write scripting for unique world events using C++, and Unreal Engine 4's Blueprint tool.

* Working with the Art and UI team to develop top-down maps (actual and stylised) for various internal purposes.

* Driving design, challenge, and quality principles, fostering a strong culture across the World team.

Requirements:
For this role we are looking for:

* 3+ years experience in multiplayer or campaign level design, (including mod experience). World designing experience preferred.

* Familiarity with the Unreal Engine, particularly the Kismet and Blueprint systems.

* Familiarity with scripting languages preferred.

* Familiarity with C++ preferred.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Excellent team-working and leadership skills.

* Excellent understanding of player psychology and design methodologies to test players mentally and also in terms of their coordination, teamwork, and game skill, including strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

* A passion for open-world videogames, science fiction, RPGs, and/or shooters.

Remuneration:

The position is currently a contract royalty-based position, with view to full-time employment post-launch. Contract amount is competitive and negotiable.

While we prioritize Australian/New Zealand applicants, we are a remote studio and consider international applications.
