We’re looking for passionate, talented individuals hoping to make their way in the games industry and gain valuable experience of working with a team to develop a project for digital release.

We are Ceberion Technologies, a small team of budding game developers, primarily (but not exclusively, nor discriminately) based in Europe. We are currently hard at work on our début game, Project Ceberion.

Project Ceberion [working title] is a top-down squad shooter much in the style of the XCOM franchise, incorporating elements of resource and base management in an oppressively apocalyptic world of tense firefights, overwhelming odds and hard choices. In Battle-Mode, you command a squad of up to five soldiers to out-gun, outflank and out-think A.I. opponents. Luck has little to do with it, and we want each victory (and defeat) to be a testament to the player’s skill. In Management Mode, a world map allows you to plan your next move, scout enemy territory, scavenge for supplies, fortify your base, customise your troops, and much more. An emergent, procedurally generated storyline of tense encounters and moral choices will shape your group; will you dig in your heels and stand your ground? Or become a roving war party and take the fight to your aggressors? The game will feature several diverse factions you can ally with, or not. Each will have their own unique perks, and multiple endings will reflect the choices you make.

Our story is set in 2073, and humanity is on the brink of extinction. First came the Kirari, a fierce and warlike species, seeking plunder and glory. In pursuit came the Mants, intelligent and numerous, they only desired revenge against the Kirari, their centuries-long enmity consuming the Earth in a terrible war with mankind caught in the middle. That was years ago, and both sides are now stuck in a tense and ever-shifting stalemate, desperate for anything they can use to strike the other. Alliances with the remaining humans are one-sided and volatile, the Kirari view them as slaves and cowards, the Mants as expendable pawns soothed by promises of peace. You live outside of their influence, in an outlying area of mainland Europe, unaffiliated for now. But as supplies run low, bandits and worse prowl the wastes and your people grow restless, you must make terrible choices which could afford those you love some small protection, or lead them to their deaths.

Beginning in Java with OpenGL, we are aiming to create a complete unique game engine from scratch. A working build of the BattleMode is in place along with a map editor we hope to develop fully as well. We also have modular skills in place, as well as support for .obj, .fbx and our own formatted files. Transformation animations are already working, and we hope to have rigging done soon.

With your help, we’re aiming to finish the concept phase around October of 2015, and have a working Alpha by early 2016. We then intend to create a modest Kickstarter with sensible goals that will enable us to increase production values, add new features and perhaps hire additional help if needed. Once that is funded we will push towards a full digital release.

We’re looking for anyone fluent (or with a high second-language level) in English and/or German. You must be over the age of 18 and we’re looking for people with experience in programming in Java and 3D Design.

As for payment, it is dependent on the success of the Kickstarter and the subsequent release, money will be allocated based on hours worked on the project, so honest time/record keeping is encouraged. Any egregious errors of payment will be handled sensitively and fairly; for the moment nobody is making any money from this, but we are dedicated to seeing this game released and becoming a profitable enterprise through hard work, honest dealings and first-and-foremost, good games.

We look forward to hearing from you,

The Ceberion Team
