Game Artist Internship - Team APE job

Affinity Pixel Entertainment, LLC is the brain child of two brothers, John and David Montoya. Founded in 2015, their goal is to create a new type of game development studio that redefines the term "indie" by developing and publishing games that push traditional boundaries to create a truly immersive and interactive experience for the player. We are licensed to develop and release games on every major platform available on the market today.

Position : Game Artist
Type : Internship
Compensation : Unpaid
Duties : Creating high quality 3D assets of various objects found in the game world, both interactive and non-interactive, preparing UVs for shader pipeline, and exporting game-ready meshes.
Engine : Unity
Skills : 3DS Max and/or Maya 2yrs+ experienced preferred. Unity experience not required but desired.

We at Team APE are laid back but serious about delivering the player the best possible experience. To do that we strive to find talented individuals to join our small team where small jobs can turn into lasting relationships. As independent developers, we want to help redefine "indie" as the future of game development.

Often we break jobs within the development process down into smaller jobs. Team members from different principles get assigned to these jobs to form smaller sub-teams to tackle the problem. In short, we divide and conquer. As a game artist intern, we're looking for a team player who knows how to open up Maya and make a fancy laser gun as well as sit and postulate ideas on how it should work, consider it's balance in the greater arsenal, and so on. You don't have to be a programmer, in fact that's not what we're looking for, we're looking for someone to model the pickups and props required for a stealth-focused, crime investigation, action game.
