Asteroid Arts are looking for extremely talented Environmental Terrain Artists to work on our upcoming ambitious Western Action/Adventure entirely within Unreal Engine 4!

You will be responsible for crafting the lush world of the Wild West where players will be able to roam freely when not on a mission. You will use the tools within UE4 to help craft a living and believable environment for the player to explore amongst others.

Join our team to create next-generation worlds for exciting upcoming projects. Strong modeling and texturing skills are not enough. Candidates must be able to create immersive, living and fully-realized environments.

As an Environment Terrain Artist, you will be responsible for creating exciting and believable artwork, building and texturing environment assets for the biggest and best open world environments possible.

We prize an ability to demonstrate individual design skills; including concept and creation of assets that are both original and yet still keep a look and feel of their specific real-world references.

We will use UE4 to its full potential to get the most fluid and prettiest game possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

>Sculpting, modeling and texturing terrain for next-gen game environments.
>Work within the map department specializing in landscape terrain art.
>Participate in R&D of new techniques to implement into production pipeline.
>Proactively seek feedback from Lead Artist and Creative Director.
>Ensuring artistic style is consistent with defined visual style for the game.

REQUIRED:

>Experience in 2D and 3D art production.
>Superior 2D and 3D art skills.
>Should be proficient at sculpting natural landscapes of varying terrain. (From grass to snow for example)
>Possess a good knowledge of cutting-edge shader techniques.
>Eagerness to learn new software tools and technologies.
>Ability to work in a team setting, under deadlines and time constraints.
>Expertise in 3DS Max, Photoshop, and either ZBrush or Mudbox is REQUIRED. (We do not provide licenses)
>Strong technical background with the ability to grasp new programs and systems quickly.
>Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation.
>Strong communication and time management skills.
>Able to prioritize and multi-task.
>Creative nature with strong problem-solving skills.
>Experience in Unreal Engine 4.
>Work well in a team.
>Be a team player.
>Be approachable and listen to what people need and want, both from other disciplines and within your own team.
>Be able to communicate your ideas and vision to the team.
>Have excellent people and communication skills.
>Be able to resolve conflicts and solve problems.
>Be creative and innovative.

>Strong 3D skills.
>Have access to either Facebook, Skype or Discord (Preferably Discord).

DESIREABLE:

>Gaming enthusiast.
>Western enthusiast.
>Game experience preferred.
>Extremely familiar with the Unreal Engine 4 workflow and menus.
>Professional experience in the game industry (NOT REQUIRED).
>Strong technical background with the ability to grasp new programs and systems quickly would be an advantage.
>Preferably worked on at least one released title.
