This is the most consistently good anime I've watched so far. Up till the very end,it never fails to deliver awesome action, animation, character development, out of the blue plot twists. And an end so satisfying and so emotional, it topped all of my expectations.
All Hail Lelouch <3
I'll just leave this here (timestamp is relevant) Youtu.be
Seriously though, I'm VERY curious as to what they'll pull so this sequel thing doesn't become a fustercluck of a trainwreck. Still, considering how the Akito OVAs look, even in a worst case scenario, it'll at least be exceptionally delicious eye candy for us mecha fans.
I don't really care about a sequel. The story of Lelouch made my life complete :P
Though if they can pull off enough connections with what happened in the original series, then maybe MAYBE it would be interesting.
The day i understand why people obsess over this lackluster, predictable story fully of coincidences is the day i can die in peace.
Akito the exiled as cool though
Your peace depends on other people's thoughts? That's just sad.
I hope you realise that was a joke.
You also gotsa consider when it was aired. Code Geass was 2007's Attack on Titan. I wouldn't be surprised if Attack on Titan gets **** on for the same "reasons" 10 years from now.
at least AOT's story isnt filled with plot holes, coincidences and ugly mechs and i dont even like AOT that much, but i know its a good show i just cant get into, not a mess like code geass
OK, now you're just being a hater. Yes, Code Geass is riddled with plot holes and overall story (and even physics) inconsistencies, but evidently still manages to convey its story well enough to have that much success.
What is ugly and what is pretty varies from person to person, a heavily subjective point like that won't ever be enough to bring down a franchise's value.
Plus if you didn't like Code Geass *and* Attack on Titan, anime may not be your thing to begin with.
as i said, i dont like AOT, but i can see why other people do because its a well made story that, as I already said, is not my thing.
but i cant suspend my disbelief with so many inconsitencies and coincidences (LOLXD his geass goes nutz right as he says something about genocide, granted, the mech design thing is my opinion, but seeing how akito the exiled has better looking mechs on the same universe that arent nearly as flamboyant i dont see why every mech in code geass has to look like it came out of a super robot show (as i said, IMO).
Lelouch's Geass going "nope! things go down the drain again!" at the best/worst possible moment is indeed a bit too "convenient". The following is only implied (never explicitly stated in the anime), but I think that was actually intervention from a 3rd party. Otherwise it wouldn't make any sense for the Emperor to go (iirc) "HE ACTUALLY DID IT!" as he witnessed the results of Lelouch's Geass changing with impossibly trolly timing.
Not sure if this 3rd party is the Emperor, C's World, no idea. There's no proper explanation and definitively insufficient information to even guess from, so that's still (in a way) the weakest point in the series' story.
Also hey, not *every* mech. Story-wise, the first knightmares actually look realistic, even. Glasgows (by entension, Burais as well) and Sutherlands got a very sober design.
Back when I started watching Code Geass for the first time, my thoughts were something among the lines of "HORE. FECK. Mechs that *aren't* power rangers megazord-hueg, and less colorful than 40k Space Marines on top of that?! Sign me the everliving **** up!"
Unfortunately almost every other design threw subtlety out the window, but at least they usually kept the small size, thus at least not as easy to hit as the wide side of a barn.
Honorable subtlety mentions go to the Chinese Federation Gun-ru and that EU knightmare I keep forgetting its name.
P.S.: I'm purposely keeping this as spoiler-free as I'm able to, because I wouldn't want to spoil Code Geass of all things, and you can't assume the entire planet watched it. I mean, dat ending. I'd hate to spoil that.
Oh man, the ending is probably one of the most satisfying of any anime <3
i was mostly refering to the ace suits, there are a lot of cool suits though, i specially like that each faction's knightmares (i cant get over how dumb that sounds) look different, which is something that happens with real life weapons
Remembered that this got on air in our television, I was addicted to this. It was great! One of my favorites.
A couple of weeks ago I was bored out of my mind, and just checking some of the anime lists. This one sounded interesting to me. Watched the first episode. Finished all 2 seasons in one weekend :O
looks like a good animie
YES, YOUR HIGHNESS!
