Game Adaptations Thread - Anime Fans of modDB

As fans of animes, what do you think about their adaptations to games? Are they enjoyable? Do they stay true to the original story?

I barely played any games from anime adaptations, sadly, so I'm not the best person to answer that. If you know good games (any platform), suggest it to other fans of that series!

And even the other way around: what about games that became animes?

What's your take on that?

mostly sucks. I don't expect much from cross-media adaptations.
if it's game to movie/anime, it will be a disappointment for the gamers. if it's movie/anime to game, it must be a franchise milking.

but there still some series that have movie/anime and game in one bundle. for example the .hack// series which fills the holes that didn't found in the counterparts.

I understand. Well, when you have to cross media, it's hard to get it right. Same thing - as you said - like games for movies. That rarely works!
Does the .hack// series' game actually exist then?

I can honestly say ive never played a game based upon an anime series ... :o ...

all ive played are DBZ fighting games
