Zodiac•Axis Windows, Mac, Linux game

Zodiac•Axis is a visual novel that blends suspense, romance, and supernatural fiction with a splash of psychological horror, centered around a tabloid journalist who is assigned to investigate six unusual targets. A variety of choices throughout the game will change the futures of the characters — for better or for worse.

The game will be developed for Mac, PC, and Linux, and will feature 50+ hours of game content. It is currently in production and looks to release in 2018.

DEMO

The demo features two backgrounds, one pose per main sprite, and a brief selection of music and story. While there are some limited features (sprites will eventually have at least 3 poses each), we hope it provides a glimpse of our vision. The main goal of the demo is to convey the overall atmosphere of the game in how we handle visuals and music.

STORY

Here's the rundown: you play as Alison Hart, a fresh-out-of-college journalism graduate who is desperate for a job. In fact, you're so desperate that you're willing to apply for an infamous (yet successful) online tabloid that specializes in "supernatural events"—though, really, it's just a collection of tinfoil hat conspiracies.

So, when you're assigned to investigate six people who are rumored carry the Spirits of the Zodiacs—whatever that means—you're not worried. After all, the whole idea is just sheer nonsense. Right?

A light and fluffy adventure ensues in which you:

• Are almost crushed by a chandelier.
• Find yourself in a burning house.
• Witness an execution.

And somewhere along the lines, you start to think that journalism is a lot more complicated than you expected.

• Choices for interactive play. You'll encounter a wide variety of choices. Some heighten Alison's courage, creativity, or observation. Some affect her articles. Some deepen friendships and relationships. And others keep her from getting killed, which might be kind of important.
• Gorgeous hand-painted backgrounds, sprites, and CGs. Be immersed in Zodiac•Axis's original worldlore with beautifully rendered artwork at every turn.
• Lush music. Based on orchestral, jazz, and acoustic preferences, the original soundtrack is specially scored to enhance the atmosphere of each scene.
• Seamless experience. The UI and complementary graphics are crafted for a minimalistic, intuitive experience.
