Warzone 2100 is a real-time action and strategy game set on earth in the 21st century. Upon entering the postnuclear world of Warzone 2100, you establish your base. Here you conduct research, design and manufacture vehicles, build new structures, and prepare your plans of global conquest.
Each campaign features a large campaign map and six or more sub-maps. As key objectives are reached on the campaign map, missions are activated on the sub-maps. These missions are varied and feature everything from hit-and-run attacks to holding territory.
The combat is fast and frantic with amazing effects and a true 3-D world with rotatable and zoomable cameras. Weapons range from bullets and lasers to explosive weapons that blast large areas of the highly detailed 3-D battlefield.

Hello everyone!
Since we received several requests about the status of Warzone 2100 on Desura, I would like to clarify:
The Warzone 2100 package for Desura was created by the Desura team and not by the Warzone 2100 Project. They do not maintain it anymore, and the Warzone 2100 Project never intended to do it. So unless a volunteer steps up, there will be no updates of Warzone 2100 for Desura in the near future.

Oh man I used to play this on PlayStation 1. And only a demo back then :) But now, since it is Open Source, why not make it even better.

When trying to launch the game on Ubuntu 11.10 64bit, the game fails to launch. I noticed in the terminal output that it is missing libphysfs.so.1 but I can not install it from the repository. Anyone got some pointers on how to get it running?
I found the correct package by searching libphysfs in synaptic - its in the package named libphysfs1
Then it asked me for libminiupnpc.so.5 which didn't seem to be in the main repository, so you will have to find elsewhere.
I got from the getdeb repository ( Getdeb.net if you haven't got it) package name libminiupnpc5
It would be nice if these dependencies were sorted out by the game maker, or listed on the game page,.

Oh, I remember this game! I still have the original disc since I bought it years ago, both of them! And the Double-CD case :D Nostalgia!

este juego recuerdo q lo jugue apenas tenia 6 años es viejo y es el mejor juego 3d de los q e vistos ese juego warzone es como del 1990 o 95 pero es bueno oyeron yo le instale un mod q se llama nexus total war fino oyeron
and i have yet to see a better free RTS game to date. (Not including games that are now free to play but used to cost money)
