If you've tried the free Vigilantes alpha, you are likely aware that there are two different visual styles available: A) a more realistic style, and B) an oil paint style. Over the coming weeks, work will begin on preparing the promotional materials which will be used to support the Kickstarter and Greenlight campaigns, and I'd really like your help in deciding which of these two styles is more engaging and which to use as the default in game style. You can of course, choose between them in game.
Below, you will find a number of screenshots of each style taken from the same camera position. Though it would likely be easier for you to see them at a larger scale as a slideshow on Imgur here.

Thanks a lot for checking out the images, I look forward to learning your opinions!
I personally prefer the realistic art style, it feels like it fits the game a bit better. I think the oil style is a bit too... Cheerful? Yeah, cheerful. It doesn't seem as gritty as the real style. Also, the oil style just looks odd. I don't think I've ever heard of a game using that type of art,and while I think having that as an option would be fantastic (Something along the lines of a "Art style" selector in the settings, having it as the banner-style could put some people off. Come to think of it, realism could put people off as well. I'd make sure to have the oil setting mentioned, perhaps shown, just so people know it's available.
However, I'm not even certain what type of feeling you're going for with this, as I haven't had a chance to play the alpha yet, so take everything with a bit of salt.
Good luck with the Kickstarter/Greenlight. Hope to see the game become a success.
Thank you LordMitmar, for the feedback. It's a difficult one to call!
