Yes this is Unity 5. But I am not sure how the lightmap seems brighter? Do you mean overexposed or with the shadows not being dark enough?
Perhaps it is to do with how we have the ambient light configured, at a rather light tint to allow visibility of details because the room has a dome for a ceiling and lets in very little light from outside.
Yes there is ao active in the lightmap, though we have it really toned down at the moment. And now that you mention it there is a fair amount of color bleed from all the wood textures, imparting an almost maroon tint to the room!
Love the floor texture and of course all the objects lying around. Great bookshelf's and chairs.
I just noticed the floor looks to be made of wood. I love how it appears to be small cuts of wood pieced together into a pattern.
That would be a hell-of-a-job in real life
After a rather long interlude - we have started work on a small build called Timruk. It narrates a parable from Somewhere, about a boy ( called Timruk ) who is engulfed by a manuscript.
Are you using Unity 5, because the lightmap looks rather odd? Very bright.

It just looks like the bounced lighting is really high. Are you using any ambient occlusion?

Thank you.
Yes we went a little overboard working out geometry for the floor and ended up with a rather complex pattern of polygonal wood fragments!
No harm in that. I love the style. I've seen your video on how you make those patters in sketchup.
Great work!
