My little experimental horror game.

I made this game in 3 days. I tried to create my own vision of the storyline. For example, I added a prologue and more interesting objects on the stairway. Things on the stairway happen randomly, so you can play again after the first time.
This game is based on the Build engine and uses EDuke 32 port (Source code is from DN3D).
I used some music tracks by russian dark ambient project "Staruha Mha"
You can play this with different renderers. If you choose "polymer" at the start setup, the game will have better lighting effects, but some bugs may appear, so I don't recommend it unless you have a powerful video card.
The controls is basic. You can jump, crouch and use switches.
This game is very easy to install and play. Just unzip and run The_Stairwell.bat.

Моя небольшая версия знаменитой истории про SCP 087.

Идея для игры была навеяна внезапно ставшей популярной игрой про SCP 087, автором которой является Haversine (этот автор сделал лишь одну игру по сюжету SCP 087, вопреки мнению, что он сделал вторую часть).
По иронии, игры была сделана за пару - тройку дней, как и знаменитый оригинал.
В качестве движка и основы был выбран Build, а точнее его новая версия - EDuke 32. На моем сайте вы также найдете другие мои проекты на этом движке.
Я попытался раскрыть историю в большем плане, добавив некий пролог и больше разнообразия в саму лестницу. На этот раз лестница находится в частном доме, а не в учебном учреждении, и она пока никем не была найдена.
При повторном прохождении события будут происходить несколько по - другому.
Доступны разные графические режимы. Если вы выберите Polymer в начальном окне, то динамическое освещение в игре будет получше, но в таком режиме возможны баги и тормоза. Я не рекомендую это, если только у вас не стоит мощная видеокарта.
При создании использовалась пара треков проекта "Старуха мха", также был использован трек из игры "Penumbra"

I don't quite understand the concept of desura. What is it?

Do you know Steam? It's like that, but for indie games. If you have the Desura client installed, you can install many mods and indie games from IndieDB and ModDB without having to use the games' own installers. It also lets you access indie games that you've purchased.
Anyway, if this were available on Desura it would be another way for people to download and install the game, and that would be convenient for some people. It may get the game more exposure, too, but I don't know.

Sorry, I didn't really understand how saving works in the EDuke32 engine.
