The World of Ashguard have broken into war. The War which will decide which faction will rule and which will perish. The actions you do will decide who will rule. This game is a MMORPG which is designed to be as flexible as possible allowing you the player to do whatever you want and be rewarded for it. This game will allow you to raise armies and take arms against anyone you wish from your own king or lord to the Helrath (A faction from the Dark which is the hell of Ashguard) themselves. This game will have many unique features in it which will make it stand out from the crowed and more interesting than the rest as it rewards skill over grinding.

This update covers the changes, improvements and progress being made to the smithing and what is happening with People in the game.

Hello and welcome to the first update in quite a long time. The game is still under development if you are wondering and the smithing system is near completion.

Smithing

The smithing has had all areas completed except the assembling stage. The process of smithing can be seen below the image.

The process of Smithing:

  1. The you must gather the ore they want to craft the item out of.
  2. The you must then use a furnace to smelt it into an Ingot. This will have more features later on such as being able to make stronger metals by using the furnace.
  3. The you must then heat up the Ingot to allow them to craft it into shape.
  4. The you then beats it into shape within the time limit set by the heat of the Ingot. The better you beat it into shape the better quality the item is and the item is more effective to use (e.g. a blade will do more damage.) This stage also allows you to pick how many you would like to make by a bar down the right of the screen; this does allow you to skip beating it into shape but the items will be equal to the one you are making and down to 10% less.
  5. Then you will finally have to cool the metal off by putting it into a barrel of water. The more heat you have left at this stage effects how durably the item is meaning the quicker you do the rest of the stages the longer the item will last.
  6. This is the last stage which doesn't apply to all items (applies to items such as swords and Armour). At this stage you pick which parts you want to go with what. For example if you are making a sword you can choose which blade you want (short, long, estoc or Two handed), what handle etc allowing you to make you or sword and have a say over what quality you might be saving you high quality guard to sell it or for a different type of sword.

The inventory system has been developed and is also near completion. The inventory will have a total weight method to restrict the amount you can carry. The items in your inventory will hopefully be easy to find as I have split them down into predetermined groups as you can see in the image above. There will also be a system in place where you can group them into a maximum of ten different groups as well. All items can also belong to multiply groups allowing you to have items for crafting in the crafting group and also in materials for making sword for example.

People

This area is the ground work towards many areas of the game which have not be started yet. This is the base of all people in the game which will give me great freedom in what I can do with them. The skeleton which is shown below can have physics applied to it to make it react realistically to being hit and can also be used for the animation making it really easy to edit the animation to add what you want (e.g. hand gestures) and that they can be improved over time with ease. You won't be able to see this when the game is finished as the body will be over the top.
