The Protectors of Etheria is a stand-alone mod of the game Warlords Battlecry 3 (i.e. it can be run without having the original game installed - 100% free full game). It is an improved RTS/RPG game with new campaigns, quests, terrain, units, items, heroes, modding features and more. Beta versions available for download!
Coming in 0.8.7
The Quest System has been greatly modified. I'll be writing an article detailing every change soon.
You really are streching the limits of the engine, aren't you? I am particularly dazzled with the Lair Quest, it's unlike anything I've seen before, as it can really allow for some tactical brilliance (such as playing the Lair close to mines or chokepoints). Great work! :D
On a side note, I really like the environement of that map, it reminds me of a steppe or a savannah!
In case you can't read the text on All or Nothing, if you beat the quest you get 3000 of each resource. But if you fail it you lose all of your resources!
Remember that in The Protectors any "rewarded" resources can indeed exceed your maximum limit, so none of it will be lost.
You can read everything if you shift to HD + wide screen (I notice some scrap in the audio, not a problem however, but in the future videos should get closer resolutions in these cases, now that we're able to).
Now a question is crossing my mind: Shoudn't these videos be somewhere on youtube too, for divulgation and what not?
Oh I see.
I've also changed the text of those dialogs a little since this was first recorded. (I'm forever adjusting dialog text!)
I've got a feeling you'll be doing that for a while (just like the songs, work never reaches a shore...).
I only upload the main versions teasers on youtube. But hey, that's my channel. Feel free to rip off this one and distribute it wherever.
Better have a centralized method then: if it does it job this way - reached 48 yesterday on MOddb!- , then no need to spread it unless we want a TPC account for this.
Maybe the wikia could see the teaser videos uploaded, if possible (I guess that is the greatest impact, as long as promotion on Gog and other sites).
Oh and All or Nothing seems rather unfair at first. Killing an enemy hero within a minute (with just your hero) seems nigh impossible.
But Dragons are of course greedy.... *hint*
