Ever seen anything resistant to piercing, slashing and fire all at once before?
Those special vulnerabilities and resistances that the units in the game have were quite limited. There were only 12 or so different variations. Now that buildings have their own defense stats, we needed more of these special vulnerabilities / resistances.
Expect to see type combinations never before seen!
In this picture here the Daemon towers are not only resistant to piercing and slashing (which is what they were in the vanilla game), but now also resistant to fire!
(Now as in the time of this picture being put up. These stats could change at any point during development but we'll still have these new type combinations nonetheless!)
Hope they take extra damage from frost.
Maybe units and buildings could get various percentages of special vulnerabilities/resistances (not only current 50%). This could help to balance or at least represent certain units better.
We're planning to implement the WBC2 styled split armour/resistance system.
