The Gears
"Gears" - the jocose name for the tall, human shaped mechanoids built when the great race was thriving do not define their grandioseness; developed to work with magic items as it’s catalist, the Heighir are strong, intelligent, robust and almost unbreakable. Once bound to a master and used as war machine for pure amusement, they’re now free, and having an infinite magic attunement, a conscience on it’s own and the liberty to roam the world as they please, they've turned in beings of high respect and sometimes fear. Their power cores are extremely valuable as a magic source, but finding one, or destroying a gear to recover it is a task indented for the most fierce and talented warriors.
Many of the magic adepts try to get patronized by one gear, learning everything they can on the arcane ways. Usually a gear does not engage in battle, as this probably means the destruction of several parts of the world.
