Earth like Planet (with dummy textures) image - Star Made

Are these spherical planets? .. if they are is it so large you can't even see the curve? Or is it loading scene sort of deal, where is spherical in space view and when you approach, you get a loading thing where it switches to surface. (or it does that seamlessly, I can imagine it going flat once you get to a certain height / over a period of time as to be unnoticeable by the player). No matter how you have it, that looks awesome even with "dummy" textures. :]
