We are excited to announce our first game Spectra 8 Bit Racing! In collaboration with Chipzel, the music artist behind the soundtrack for Super Hexagon, Spectra features 10 awesome songs that procedurally generate the players’ track, through reading its energy. We've had great reactions from those who have tried it out; “punishing”, “unforgivable” and “beautiful” being some of our favourites. We wanted to make a game that was reminiscently retro on a next gen console and the fact that it's had comparisons with such games as Audiosurf and Mario Kart's Rainbow Road is just what we want to hear. Staying sharp is essential and reaction timing vital, as memory is obsolete. Unforgivingly hard gameplay is the cornerstone of Spectra. Randomness, challenging obstacles and demanding beats is what it's all about!

Description

“Spectra” a music based racing game In collaboration with music author Niamph ‘Chipzel’ Houston features 10 fabulous 8-bit retro tunes. Spectra allows players to race through the stars on procedurally generated ribbons of light. Each track is built with a degree of chance every time it is played, matching the speed and energy of the music. Staying sharp is part of the game, memory is obsolete and players can only feel, predict, and react to changes in the rhythm. Players must survive the corners of Spectra’s winding tracks, while avoiding obstacles and collecting as many voxels as they can to boost their score.
