Slinki is a hard-as-nails 2.5D action-platformer with a unique weapon - Use your own arm as a bladed projectile that always returns to you or push a button and propel yourself towards it instead. In the wake of the calamity that befell the forest he called home, strange things have happened to the small bunny known as Slinki. Changed, he must now rely on his mobility, your wit, and the boomerang-like bladed metal appendage that once used to be his arm, in his endeavour: To reach the sickened heart of his once peaceful Wood and end it's suffering.

Post news Report RSS Sorry IndieDB, we won't let you down again

I won't lie, we've been neglecting Slinki's presence in IndieDB. To be entirely honest it's mostly due to the fact the few glimmers of free time I've had are dedicated towards improving it.

I won't lie, we've been neglecting Slinki's presence in IndieDB. To be entirely honest it's mostly due to the fact the few glimmers of free time I've had are dedicated towards improving Slinki. Therefore it falls upon me, as dedicated devblog writer, to ask for your forgiveness after delivering such a tardy update.

That being said, here's what's new:

We've had some talks and decided on postponing our Android and Metro releases. Unity handles multi-platform releases pretty well and streamlines much of the process but we could never get around the extra effort of producing (slightly) different assets for both platforms and especially all the testing required. The final straw was when we discovered one random DFGUI update (which by the way is a great GUI library if you need one for your Unity game) made our virtual d-pad was no longer function.

Another thing we've debated was on how Slinki's levels felt a bit stale. We first blamed this on our inability to make use of the mechanics we've had but soon realized it was just that we didn't have enough cool stuff we could do with the boomerang. On the next few months we'll be trying to add new features and see if we can make Slinki at least 20% cooler.

See you next week!

Oh yeah. Have some screenshots, the previous ones were so old it was embarrassing.
