"Welcome aboard cadet, prepare to begin exploration mission." Fly a spaceship around an abandoned futuristic city and look for clues in order to figure out what happened to it's citizens. Sky City VR was developed by a team of Side Effects Software game tech interns to showcase how Houdini can be used to procedurally build content for VR experiences. The game was developed over the course of seven months using Houdini, Houdini Engine, Unreal Engine 4, and Oculus DK2.

This project started out as a tech demo to show how Houdini can be used to build 3D content for VR experiences, but it quickly turned into a small, but fully developed game that came to be known as Sky City VR. In the game the player pilots a spacecraft around an abandoned futuristic city as they look for clues to reveal the whereabouts of the city's citizens. Can you find all the clues and figure out the story?

Sky City VR game build for use with Oculus. Requires Oculus and XBox game controller. Developed and tested with Oculus DK2.


Its a very cool city but unfortunately they offer no settings area as eye strain is fairly rough on the Oculus DK2. OUCH! No Fun.

Sorry to hear you experienced eye strain while playing the game. We developed and tested with DK2 and never ran into that problem. I'm curious what your system specs are? Also, have you experienced eye strain with any other games on DK2? Thanks for your input.
