Siegebreakers is a hack and slash game which is focused around fostering the experience of couch co-op. You and your friends play as the Siegebreakers, an elite group of dwarven mercenaries hired out to defend castles from sieges. Mine, build, and battle your way to victory against a powerful AI director that dynamically changes what enemies you face based on your playstyle. Spending all your time building up the castle? Your foes will bring their siege weaponry to bear. Enjoying the thrill of facing enemies in melee? Brutal champions will come out to brawl. Equally as impressive as the AI director is the 4 player dynamic splitscreen camera. As we wanted to focus on the co-op experience, we needed to figure out how to accommodate 4 players on the screen at once. No matter how far apart the players get from each other, they are always easily able to see both themselves and their surroundings.

Against all the competition we have here at UCSC's Computer Science: Game Design program, Siegebreakers is UCSC's Representative to E3's College Game Competition!
We are working hard to make a complete overhaul of the ingame pixel art to our new art style by the April 19th deadline. Also expect a public alpha sometime in the next 6 weeks or so to rigorously test it before we submit.
Here's a link to read up on the competition if you aren't familiar:
Edit: As it turns out, the ESA selection was a much less open process. There were limitations such that the game had to be for PC (limiting many of the mobile games being developed) and could not have been entered into competitions previously (no previous year's games or graduate projects). We are still very honored by the prospect, but we want to make it clear that there were a good number of games rendered ineligible by merit of their platform. Asterogue was one of those games, an amazingly polished roguelike action game for mobile. You can check them (and the other awesome senior games) out at:

Yes you can build buildings on buildings. It has some interesting effects when it comes to stacking npc buildings.

This looks great I would love to show off your game
Thanks! We are hopefully planning to do a beta late spring/summer so perhaps then!
Looks really fresh ;) Do you plan multiplayer? Clonk-Style?
Tracking!
The only game mode planned at the moment is single player/co-op multiplayer where you defend the castle together. There will be a video up today or tomorrow explaining all the planned features.
From what I've seen in the video, the game looks really interesting. Worth to be watching!
Thanks for the feedback! We've been busy working on it for the past couple weeks and will have a new video going up by the end of the day PST with new art, fog of war, and (hopefully) some basic enemies!
