I might revamp this title sometime in the future and release it.

Shmup God is the classic vertical scroller shoot them up (shmup) game with stunning 3d graphics, animations, visual effects, engaging music that changes dynamically as you progress and many features that are common to all classic shmups with addition of a few new ones, never seen before.

One of the original mechanics I've implemented is the control of the shield(s). If you have one shield you'll be able to move it from one side to the other, if you have both shields, you'll be able to move them forward/backward and protect yourself. There's a focus mode in which your vessel drains extra power from the engines to provide more fire power thus making vessel move slower. This also enables you to avoid bullets more precisely, but you have to be careful not to drain energy completely or the energy regeneration will last longer. There are other possibilities with the shields. Game supports arcade joysticks using 4 buttons, but if you only have 3 buttons that's fine, because one of the buttons is to turn autofire on/off which can also be done using keyboard.

You will bow before this game in awe each time before you start playing it. I'm serious. I'm gonna try and make a history here, something everyone will talk about, so spread the news.

First level will be the shortest one. Each next level will be twice the size of the previous one and two times more difficult. Therefore, the last level will be the ultimate challenge. This game will have arcade quality and it would be best if you'd have an arcade joystick to play this game with. Neither of gameplay videos will reveal much of the game, that's my policy, I want players to be surprised, otherwise entire experience won't be as powerful as intended. This gameplay video is an example:

The good news is that, since it's a classic shmup, the game is much simpler to program than Invader Attack 2 was. There are no collisions between all objects, there are no AIs only timed waves and actions, no physics involved, everything moves precisely as programmed, no free will whatsoever. Regardless of all of those limitations, the game will be fun, more suitable for core shmup fans, a lot of bullet hells, a lot of chaos, a lot of weaponry, a lot of targets to destroy, a lot of bonuses to collect, a lot of achievements.

Due to a very low interest in the game, I decided to postpone the development and continue working on my other projects until gamers get more interested and engaged, leaving comments or contacting me.

Everyone who I personally know were interested, but the interest over the Internet is currently quite the opposite. There's still 4-5 months, maybe even more, of work left for me to do to finish the game fully, the way I intend it to be, and it's quite a lot of time and effort for something that only a few dozen people will play.

I thought, since it's a game more closer to classic shmups, with a several interesting original features and mechanics never seen before, the interest would surely be bigger than interest in Invader Attack 2, but the case is shockingly opposite. I still don't get it why, but since there's not much feedback coming from different gamers on the Internet, that part might remain a mystery to me.

The game doesn't have a main menu currently and there are only 3-4 levels, not fully finished though, but it is playable, so if anyone is interested in trying this prototype (still alpha version prone to larger changes), let me know. I'd also appreciate any feedback based on just teaser of the game, is it something you'd play or not and, if so, why not. These things do help and shape the development.

Thanks!

I've been working on Shmup God since the release of Invader Attack 2, many months ago. Shmup God is supposed to be the best classical vertical scroller...
