Secrets of Grindea is an old-school RPG, with co-op support for up to 4 players. In the world of Grindea everything is determined by one thing - how big you collection of stuff is. You take on the role as a young hero (or heroine) taking his or her first steps to become a famed Collector and help collect the most valuable rares in the entire kingdom! The game features zelda-ish gameplay, but with deep character customization and skill systems. We have no classes; you build your hero from scratch putting skill points in almost anything you want, with no level caps holding you back. We have a lengthy main story with dungeons in all shapes and colors, as well as multiple side-quests and hidden secrets~ All this can be played with up to 4 players co-op, or just by yourself if you're more of a single player guy.
Just messing around with CE on this awesome game :)
This is exactly the type of thing that will make public servers pointless. People joining with hacked characters and spoiling the fun.
You're totally right.
Whether it's a public or private server, perhaps a voting system to kick and/or ban people with hacked accounts would be a good thing to impliment.
Why do people hack? Really, I do not play a game to win. I want to have a challenge. Hacking is lame...
They lack the skill and technique to play the game as-is.
This is why I'll have no problem only playing with friends and such. I can weed out people who would willingly do this haha. But this is pretty handy to know, if the devs intend to disable this sort of capability.
This shouldn't be an issue on multiplayer servers, considering servers will (should?) control damage, exp, and drops; though speedhacks could be tricky, the server can still check movement, and warp offending users back.
You can prevent hacked characters by disallowing stat copying (still allowing players to copy the apparance), so people will have to start fresh on a server they join; or they could be set to the level of a friend or something like that (so they can play together). This should of course be a configuration option; so friends can connect with their own character and stats on their own server.
I use to hack games just becuase I can and it's a challenge, but I would never ruin the fun for other when doing so. That's just lame. And when I play I never use a hacked character. It gets deleted right after
I'll never understand why a person would do something like this.
You can do so much more cooler stuff with CE, than hack your stats. I've used CE on many games to change my character's model to NPC and so with HEX edit. :)
Whats the point about hacking it ruins the fun for you and everyone else. However hacking can also be used for good purposes just not like this.
You guys see this as pointless hacking, but I see this as someone with skill with little time to run through and beta test the game. Instead they have implemented some quick code to allow the user to test all functionality of the beta quickly. He can now also provide the means on how he did hack the game, to help in preventing the code from being easily hacked, so this doesn't happen. To each his own!
