Thank you :)

I'm hoping to update everything to this sort of quality and a unique style; where it feels special and cool to own a certain weapon. One of those last touches I want to make.

Description

Since we're not quite ready for another full update, here's a preview of two new weapon designs that will appear in the next release. These Nitewood systems were adapted specifically for use in the recently re-opened Lavandri Deathmatch Arena, which the player character will be able to compete in, putting them on the spot(light) in this gruesomely popular spectator sport.

On the top we have the Nitewood FLaK, a high powered canister rifle designed for maximum area denial and sheer carnage. The muzzle contains a plasma sink that, when firing scattershot canisters, will discharge a cloud of superheated gas that burns enemies and short-circuits shields. Otherwise the weapon functions much like an automatic grenade launcher, capable of firing up to four canisters per turn. It does not accept bolt munitions and is notoriously inaccurate.

Below is the Nitewood FRaG, a tripple barreled rail rifle designed for extreme burst capacity at the price of staying power. Due to its atypical, rotary-based loading mechanism, the FRaG can load up to three rounds whenever it's drawn or weapons are switched, but only re-loads one round per turn when used subsequently. The result is a unique combat mechanic ideally suited for the spectacle-centric combat found in the new Deathmatch Arena.

I really want to go into why this is all significant but the Arena scoring mechanic is a little too convoluted to describe in brief. Rest assured, creative use of unusual weapons goes a long way towards a good reputation – and higher prize money. Several unique weapons are being included to this end, and there's a combat simulator outside the Arena that players can use to test their skills or loadout against various foes found in the game (Okay, okay. I just included that to test balance).

All in all, this is probably the last major content addition to Beta 0.7, which both fills a noticeable gap in regards to income, and pays homage to the franchise that got me into serious gaming.
