Savage 2 failed at being a competitive game with an active clan scene.
Savage 2 failed at bringing the skill and depth of Savage to the next level.
When the core devs of Savage left and created Project Offset, I think some of the magic left S2games.
Still a nice game, 9/10.

"...takes the best of the FPS, RTS, and RPG genres and blends them seamlessly into an extremely addictive and complex experience." wow, that's totally exaggerated. wouldn't even mention the fps part which is almost non existant and very disappointing, hardly any weapon requires skill to use. the base construction in rts mode is very limited, the tech research automated, all you do is supporting field players (like in battlefield 2). the rpg part is important although not much in depth. fps fans…

if only savage2.sh is missing - why download the whole archive twice??? Please make available the savage2.sh as single file for download and all is ok! I have a traffic limit, so what will be my decision whether to download twice? Of course: No! No download, no play, no good news about the game...
copying the savage2.sh script (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/savage2) and setting chmod+x makes it work; please fix

Broken install on 64-bit linux mint 12 version of Desura. No, not wasting more time with trying again on a website. Maintain your stuff on Desure better, it should be a rule or something.

Although tbh I have downloaded the client directly from their website.
Only problem with it is that there aren't as many people playing it as there use to be. 'tis a shame considering it's such a great game imo. Good thing there are a bunch of dedicated servers though.
