There's been a calm, almost silent period here on IndieDB for some time now, so we figured it was about time to break the silence. The reasoning is because the team has been working extremely hard on Sanctum 2, and also to release a new patch for Sanctum which is going live on Steam today.
The new patch address a lot of issues that we finally decided to get rid off, and also improved the game on a handful of aspects. The biggest change you will notice is the vastly improved Winning and Lose screens together with the new Medal System.
We always figured Sanctum lacked some kind of progression, and it was indeed irritating to not be able to see what maps you did beat and on what difficulty. This has got a solution with the new patch, as we're introducing the medal system. When you beat a map in Singleplayer on normal mode you will now be given a number of medals depending on what difficulty you are playing. Go catch em all!
The patch also fix some connection issues and making it possible to cancel when connecting to a server.. Another funny addition is that the one who does the most DPS during a wave, will now get a nice reward at the end of each wave. There won't be any need to discuss who's the most ferocious Core Defender anymore among your friends, now you will get solid proof each single wave!
Along with the free patch, we're adding another DLC to Sanctum, which also (we're way too nice) will be free of charge. The DLC is produced together with Simon & Lewis from the Yogscast, where they add their crazy humor and cheer on the player as you protect their "Joffo Cakes". The DLC will be launched tonight (3/5), so make sure to grab it and try it out.. There's something really spooky going on in the "Yogscave"! indeed. We hope that this patch will both appeal to current Sanctum players, new ones as well as the Yogscast fan audience!
The map introduces something we've wanted to do for a long time in Sanctum, a boss! (That's boss, right?!)
Did we mention Sanctum goes on a F2P Weekend on Steam this weekend?! No we didn't. This is spectacularly good timing we think, as there's a free new DLC, a new patch, and Joffo Cakes on that? There's really no reason not to try Sanctum now, if you haven't already :)
Once the Free Weekend starts (about 19.00 GMT+1), Sanctum should be visible in your Steam games Library, and you should be able to install it even if you don't own it. During the period the game will also be 75% off, _including all DLC_, so make sure to grab a handful of copies while you're at it, and help support our development of Sanctum 2.
Hope you'll have a great weekend and a few great games in Sanctum!

This game is just amazing!
Made me remember when I played tower defense games on wc3.
But this is a whole new experience!
Just for the small action trailer I can say it features really good environment, creature design originality, the sci-fi theme looks actually pretty awesome, the towers build themselves impressively!
What more can I say?
I will say that I'm going to track this game, to check on future updates, and I'm grabbing the demo.
But wait, where's the demo?
EPIC GAME!!!
Hey guys!

I have the demo installed, and I do play it quite a bit if I get the chance...
