This game is a perfect example of the right way for one game to take inspiration from another. Instead of sloppily throwing something together or outright ripping off it feels much more like a graceful homage to the gameplay of its spiritual ancestor.
As someone who grew up playing Quake (and eventually CPMA), I have a very strong attachment for that particular flavor of arena shooter. Unfortunately, id Software took the series in a direction I (and probably a lot of the rest of the community) didn't like.
Naturally, once I found out about Reflex I was basically sold on the spot. It has the elements I liked from Quake/CPMA and puts them on an incredibly well-developed modern engine.
Not to mention, once I got on the game I found the community, while admittedly small at this point in time, to be a very welcoming one for a rusty former Quake player and even the new players I recommended the game to later. Something that can't be said for some of the community still playing the original Quake games.
I highly recommend this game for veteran Quake players and people who have never as much as touched an arena shooter alike. It has a bit of a learning curve, but the game is implementing tools to teach new players and the community is more than happy to help new players learn.

Almost best netcode, modern graphic, true afps fast skillbased gameplay.
Arena FPS brings the best in terms of mechanics, strategy and competitive formats in shooters regardless of how overlooked they have become. Turbo Pixel is working to bring us the very best with a facelift, many features, tools etc and this is why i play reflex. Even in its alpha stage it has provided me with that "frag" fix i've been itching for. No other triple A /exorbitantly priced game has provided me with anywhere near as much entertainment and keeping my faith in gaming overall.
For a VERY humble price of $10 all of you should buy it. If you decide otherwise your a bad person and should feel bad.
Reflex is a modernisation and re-work of classic Quake gameplay.
Turbo Pixel Studios have meticulously studied what does and doesn't work in Quake-style shooters from years of heavy community involvement in the Quake scene with the Challenge ProMode Arena (CPMA) mod. These are devs you can trust to make a superb, high skill gameplay experience.
It should tell you something when this game during its pre-alpha state, single handedly made me quit CS:GO and never play it again.
