Greetings! Today we have a pretty big press release. The public beta has been a great success and most of the major game bugs have been identified and fixed, and Red Crucible is about to go "version 1.0".

Release Notes for current version 0.9 Beta:

  • New visual effects: smoke trails, muzzle flash, and tracers.
  • New social features: invitations, gifting, notifications, and find friend's game.
  • New items in the store: Armor Boost, Gun Boost, and Threat Detector.
  • New splash damage for rockets.
  • Improved game performance.
  • Improved vehicle textures (Advanced Shaders).
  • Fixed several network bugs.

And due to popular demand, we have a non Facebook version of Red Crucible! And yes, you can still see and play with people from Facebook in this version.... Rocketeergames.com

Keep an eye out for a version of Red Crucible on MySpace, Hi5 and the iPad. We are also looking to having a client build availble soon, as a direct downlaod for both mac and PC. All this is part of our stratiegic goal of going trully "cross channel" and having as many palyers from different places in our game as pssible. So if you happen to come from Facebook you will be able to play with friends from MySpace or any other place. This is the power of our "Master Server" system we have developed.

In other news, we just submitted Red Crucible to the Independent Game Festival 2011! Obviously we are very thrilled for the opportunity but we are also conscious of the extremely talented indie developers we will be competing with. Igf.com

Also, Red Crucible is one of the nominees for the 2010 Unity Awards! There's some stiff competition and the games have definitely become better, lots of talented Unity developers out there! :)

What you can expect from Red Crucible 1.0

- Single player levels
- Air strikes
- Off site Artillery (indirect fire)
- Awards!
1. Ribbons
2. Medals
3. Badges
- More Booster add-ons such as "rocket camera".
- New arenas (middle east campaign, including Persian army...).
- And of course new vehicles.

Here's just a few vehicles that will be added to the game soon..

To wrap things up, we just added new forum signature images. If you are a fan of Red Crucible and you would like to help the game grow, please use them when you are posting on other game forums, this will help us grow and create a lively community of players.

You are encouraged to not just modify these signatures but also to create your own. But please use good judgment and use only in game screen shots from Red Crucible. Please don't use any copyrighted materials form other games. Also don't forget about our Red Crucible forum! We will be posting weekly developer blogs along with some interesting technical news....

That's it for now. Until version 1.0 comes out (in a few weeks), Cheers!

Based on player feedback we are going to arrange certain times during the week when most players can agree to play. Does anyone have any suggestions on a public online calendar we could use? I am thinking of the online Google calendar, but that requires users to have a gmail account.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Heh, Facebook doesn't care about us small devs. Our goal is not to be Facebook exclusive, that's why we just released a non Facebook version of the game.

But keep in mind, Facebook does have 500 mil users. Any indie game dev would be extremely foolish to ignore these potential players...

Yes, helicopter gunships are in development, but coding them to do what we want is tricky. So we will be introducing Air Strikes first using jets. Helos should be in the game in a month or so.

I need to get back to playing games with you guys :P.
But I'm addicted to Battlefield.
I'll certainly use the sigs and stuff.
And get back to rank 2/ or get to 1 if I was out ranked in these past weeks.
Anyways, can't wait for 1.0!
