Powercity 9000 is a sim-city like game where you can build your own city. It's currently in alpha so it doesn't have many features yet. It only has the creative feature now, where you can build freely.

INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone!

This is a huge devlog for the latest Powercity 9000 updates. I released a few Powercity 9000 updates but I didn't make an article for the versions, so here you go!

I added/fixed a lot of things in these updates. You can download all the updates here on Indiedb but I'll include a download link below, for the latest version.

General

  • Optimized code a lot (game uses 10x less memory - still needs work)
  • Dead humans now despawn when deleting everything.

  • Redesigned code for object coords on GUI and world.
  • Disabled controller support (Some controller controls aren't updated for this version)
  • Remade the whole "MAIN" background world because of the change in the objectcoords.

I liked the pixel art graphics and more personal news article, you registered well each update too, this is a weakness of my project, not keeping track of everything, so sometimes people do not see the amount of work if not graphical =/ The "Unsaved Progress will be lost" options were amusing too.

Yeah, it's also difficult for me to explain all the things that I did in my updates. I try to write everything in a notepad first, so I can keep track of things, and try to explain what I did. People don't notice small changes sometimes, so I also try to include that into my article.

I just looked at your project, and honestly, I think it's much better than mine! (+ nice art style!)

I know how invaluable good feedback can be when working on a development project. I downloaded the latest demo and tried it out. First and foremost, great job on taking an idea and making it work. Overall the game itself has some great potential if executed correctly and I think you guys have done a great job so far. A few notes for you: If you start a new game, with no previously saved game--there is no data in the SAVES folder. So if you are in the game and press load, while in game on the actual game screen--it will throw an exception, I'm guessing because a save file doesn't exist yet. Should be a simple EXISTS check there so no biggie, in case you haven't found this bug yet. I was trying to click around to see what all the buttons did and I found that issue. It causes the game to crash as well. Great job!

Yeah, I noticed this right after the hotfix upload, so I'm going to include this in the next version.
(This version was the last free *content* update, there will be more GUI updates and bug fixes :))
