Pacaman

Pacaman is a free and open source Pac-Man remake that uses SFML (Simple and Fast Media Library).

Features:

  • Single player and cooperative game
  • Multiple game types
  • Random generated levels
  • Different game worlds
  • Mean enemies
  • Cute graphics and music


Game goal:

Eat as much stars and fruits as you can in the smallest time possible to gain high scores! Avoid ghosts unless you've picked up the ring! Open the gate and get to the next level by collecting all the keys on the map!


Project goal:

The goal is to make a proof-of-concept game with educational purposes, that has a more complex source code than the standard pong example that comes with the SFML libraries. The source code was created in a (relatively) nice coding style with a lot of comments to ease understanding.

What's new?

  • Christmas goodies. This version is a special edition with a cool Christmas related graphics and audio!
  • Revamped AI. It's more fun to play now as ghosts will flee if you chase them, and surround you when they chase you! Also, they're faster, so look out!
  • Difficult levels. Some of you have found the alpha demo too easy, so this time you'll get more tougher levels!
  • Themeable engine. You can add your own graphics, animations, musics and sounds to the game now. And more options are coming!
  • Smoother animations. The tileset texture is bigger and the animations are richer now!
  • Enhanced controls. The controls are more responsive so it feels better to move around with Pacaman!
  • Fixed bugs. Well, at least, some of them. :)
