Olvand is a little multiplayer sandbox RPG, where the players live in self-built towns and can go on all kinds of adventures together. Imagine living with your friends in a small town in the mountains, or creating a new group of friends in a pub in the metropole you all live in. There will be several mini-games the inhabitants of a server can play together, among which will be combat based games like King of the Hill or Capture the Flag. You will be able to play against other people in your city, or as a city against another city, or as a whole server against another server. The combat works with self-built guns, in which all kinds of powers can be combined to create unique effects.

So my game instantly closes and the crashlog is completely empty... any ideas? |

Did anything pop up before it start up. Because I have this problem where a pop up says that I need to download the 32bit or 64bit version of the game. I run a Windows 7 32bit laptop. I also tried to run it in compatibility mode, but it only had modes for Win. 7, Win. Vista and Win. Server 2008. Hope this can shed some light. |

Hmm. Well I tried on of the suggestion to download the compatibility pack, but when I did installed it, I didn't help. Since there was nothing in the crash log, this is probably something to do with the compatibility of the game on Win. 7. |

Hi all, Siedge also messaged me personally; this is what I answered:
If more people are having this problem (like you, Lyot), feel free to try this too, and let me know the results; I might be able to help. Another response:
This was developed on a Win7 64-bit laptop, so that can't be it. |

Hey Wosesel, thanks for replying. I tried the command prompt you suggested. I got it far as to the "cd C:\Program Files\Desura\common\olvand." When I typed "python.exe" and pressed enter, the command prompt said that the python.exe was not recognized as an exe or a .bat file. |

^ Same thing |

Whoops, sorry, my mistake. You should type 'olvand.exe' instead. And thanks for trying it so far! PS |

It okay Wosesel. But here's the bad news. As I followed with the command prompt and what you said in your previous post, it still gave me the problem of compatibility, asking me to try to get either the 64bit or 32bit version of the game. |

Lyot, I've been investigating your problem, but haven't found a solution so far. I'm using a 64 bit system myself, so maybe I did something wrong, which causes the game to only work on 64bit systems? |

Wow, I'm really sorry to read you cannot play anymore too. I really didn't expect OpenGL to respond that differently on various machines. I'll see what I can do, but so far I have no idea how to fix this, the most important problem being that I cannot reproduce the problem myself. |

Man, I can't tell you how happy I am to read that.
Thanks for your input, Morphnet! Looks like this is a 'simple' problem with the fact that I accidently used 64-bit tools to develop this version, which makes Olvand no longer work on 32-bit Windows. That'll be fixed in the next version. |
