Odyssey is a first-person adventure game that blends the history of science with an immersive journey across the exotic yet dangerous Wretched Islands to rescue Kai, a 13-year old girl, and her family.

Post news Report RSS We've been trialling Odyssey in schools!

As we move towards the Early Access release of Odyssey on 23 February, from which we hope to gain valuable feedback from the gaming community, we've also been seeking feedback from the educational community - and from the kids we hope will benefit from our work!

Hi everyone! As we move towards the Early Access release of Odyssey on 23 February, from which we hope to gain valuable feedback from the gaming community, we've also been seeking feedback from the educational community - and from the kids we hope will benefit from our work!

In November, we teamed up with AltSchool in Palo Alto, using Odyssey as part of a science class. Some articles have gone live today chronicling what happened - take a look!

In short: the early signs are incredibly promising, with AltSchool Palo Alto's head, Chris Bezsylko praising the content of the game. And the kids seemed to love it!

But it's important to stress that far more research is needed to understand if our approach to game-based learning truly works. We believe in it, and we know others do too, but we need funding for proper, controlled studies with a wider test base to really understand the value here.

That's why we're continually grateful of the support of you guys, and the wider gaming community. People are starting to talk about Odyssey, which is lovely to see - and if it gets people talking about game-based learning more generally, we couldn't be happier.

Two weeks to go! Stay tuned...
