Also I'd like to add, sorry for double post, that the armor system shouldn't be so damn rigid. There should be a slot for chausses, boots, gloves, bracers, helmet, pauldrons, and multiple levels of body armors. For instance, shirt > gambeson > round rivet 14g mail(yes there should also be a mail quality system) > surcoat. Or light gambeson > lightish mail > plate cuirass, along with, of course, the other plate pauldrons and gauntlets, cuisse, gorget, helmet, what have you.

My suggestion is change the sword swinging system. To make it more realistic, you might not want it to be so rigid, maybe have a much more fluid system that you can swing from ANY angle, and you can parry just about the same way. It would be a nice way to spice up battle and make fighting a bit more realistic. Although Mount and Blade is one of my favorite games, the melee is not close to be realistic.

so happy about the new game! hope they improve the the fighting sistem a little bit, maybe by introducing battle formations, banners and stuff. I don't really care about the graphics...

Nah, Mount and Blade is its own thing, doesnt belong in a category with the Elder Scroll series. In some ways its kind of better, in other ways, its worse, but no one should mix the two together and still call it Mount and Blade. It IS a rpg, and there is leveling up, but like Morrowind, and Skyrim? No.

Frankly, I think the main thing that Bannerlord needs to focus on is combat mechanics. Now, that's not to say that Warband's was bad. In fact, it the most solid medieval combat system I've ever played.

But, realistic is not a term I'd use to describe it. Some things that I believe might help- more dynamic animation, simulated blade physics (blades can collide/rebound in mid-swing), different 'ability levels' that affect combat ability (difficulty in lifting a heavy weapon, awkward swings, stumbling etc)... just more detail to the combat elements.

There are mods being made in preparation for the release, particularly just resources to build the mods on once they have access to the game code and mod tools.
