Mist of Stagnation is a multiplayer FPS/RTS hybrid that will put you into fast paced, objective based game play, in a Steam Punk world. Two teams will battle for control of the few remaining resources left on the war ridden planet, in order to advance their technology. The core game play will be based on gathering resources in the forms of Control Points, to then be used by a ‘Commander System’ to build upgrades for their team. Upgrades to weapons, vehicles, and armor to name a few will be the fundamentals for a winning team. Can you survive as the Commander, or work your way up the chain of command and lead your team to victory? Will you fight on the front lines or lead from the rear? Can you make the important decisions that will determine the outcome of the battle, or are you a natural born killer? Throw on some goggles and lace up your boots, salvation lies ahead in the Mist of Stagnation.

Guns, guns, and more guns. This week we look at the weapons we are working with to make this steampunk experience even better.

Over the past few weeks you have seen the players and commander system, now let's get to the fun stuff. Everyone love a little fire power, or in this case steam power in their hands, Today we put it all out in front of you to look at. For those of you who have already been following us, some of this you will already know about, but we also have some new, never released media today too!

One of the first members of the team Kris 'RagTag' Thaler, has single handedly created the unique weapon experience you see before you today. We gave him a basic overview of the types of weapons we were wanting, and some very basic design ideas, what we got in return blew our mind!

This was very helpful when it came time to start modeling these out, because there is always a gap between concept and design phases. After months of modeling, everything was going great, and then we hit a wall again. Our modeler was unable to continue because of school, and I fully support him on his choice to focus on that instead of this. He is still with the team, but in a different capacity now, but in the meantime, we had some models to make with less time than ever to get them done!Enter Patrick Walsh.Patrick joined our team about a little over a month ago as a hired gun to knock out these models and get them over to our animators as fast as possible. Our weapons system also uses a series of upgrades that the commander of the team decides on and researches. Some of these upgrades can include new ammo types, higher capacities, better accuracy, scopes, and more. Deciding which of these your team needs will be a fun part of the game, and making the right choices will determine the victor.

When our coders started to implement these weapons into the game, they found that there are a lot of tweaks to be made for a good, balanced game to happen. There were many rounds where an over powered, infinite range shotgun was used for single-shot KO's from across the map.

That bastard son of the Chauchat and Sterling SMG is the most interesting looking firearm I've seen near a video game in nigh on forever. Get a 3D model going of that thing ASAP.

And might I recommend a portable chain-fed grenade launcher/rocket launcher? Sort of like that more contemporary looking revolver-style you have, but with a dangling belt of grenades bobbing up and down beneath it (sort of like this 40k bolter: I38.photobucket.com). No idea if that'd fit into your games balance, but you don't see those in video games (or any media really) too frequently, but they have such character to them.

Just make sure to follow us and you will see it with-in the next couple of weeks. We should have the textured grenade launcher up in a day or 2.

That is a cool weapon you have there. We don't have time to add anything else in right now, but maybe in the future!

I don't think I have ever seen concept art so impressive. And I have been in the industry for over 25 years. Nice work on the models and textures also guys.

I had been wondering how he made these concepts, until I reached "they are made in 3D". What an awesome job!And how much work for the artist to model, texture, skin, just so the modeller can take it to the next level; maybe too much work to begin with, but the results speak for themselves.

I recognize some of the parts I see in the weapons, the grip of the pistol looks familiar,etc. So did he first start collecting pieces of real guns and make a collague or where do these guns come from ^^

Great job, very unique and if you get characters to match this stlye, it will be most intersting to see where the universe of this game goes.

But care about the iron sights, if you look through a round circle, then make it really round. Something that is in the middle of your screen should look perfect, so don't make the mistake and save a laughable amount of polys on the sights.

I dont get how a game like Killing floor does this right and a game like MW3 does this wrong.
